While the facility is clean, the building is old and has many miles on it. The food is fantastic, the staff is so nice and courteous and if you buy anything on the menu that is, oh what’s the word for their HUGE plates with larger portions on it. Oh well, it will come to me later, but the plates are massive with plenty of good food. It’s like ordering a super-sized plate of food. Anyways, great place to eat.

We arrived about 40 minutes to closing time but were welcomed with open hearts and light spirits from the beautiful friendly smart professional and very efficient woman behind the bars. She assured us we were not too late and the meal was fantastic. I had breakfast for dinner which was biscuits and gravy and hashbrowns and eggs. My friend had roast beef sandwich. It was awesome. Thanks again !!!!

It has great down home food. Awesome desert menu chocolate peanut butter cream pie is my favorite very nice attentive staff my go to place for food when in Helena!!! I highly recommend this place. A full service bar as well as a casino the waitresses have allways gone to that little bit extra to make me feel valued to be there. There’s about 7 TV s going on different shows bench seats as well as the taller stools and taller tables as well as seating at the bar my favorite server by far is lacy

I like the food and the atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. Is nice that you can get anything on the menu at anytime. I go most often after my nightshift, early morning, looking for dinner not breakfast. But, it’s really all about the staff. They are excellent and go out of there way to get what you want and to make sure you have good experience. I’m not an easy customer as I can be picky and they are always courteous and work to make me happy. I’m ashamed to say I don’t know the name of my favorite waitress, i think it’s Lisa?? I have never had a bad waitress at Shellie’s, either location. FYI the westside location is less crowded for early morning.

Places like Shellies are 100% my jam. The portion size here was bonkers, I loved it. Our waitress was aces didn’t need to write a thing down and remembered what everyone ordered ( and there were 8 of us). The chicken fried steak and eggs benedict were amazing. My kids got the pancakes, they were fluffy delicious and we’ll worth the price. I love greasy spoons like this.

My wife and I went in Monday 20 August 2018 for breakfast while our son was doing placement testing at his school. The food was great, the service was good. The only problem we had was with the clothing choice by our waitress. She was wearing those strechy pants that were obviously to small because they were black and you could see through them. Her BLACK THONG underwear were quite visable and we certainly don’t think that is appropriate for the general public to have presented at their table.

Will not be going back! I was way over charged for eggs, meat, and hashbrowns. Charged us for each individual item rather than giving us meal prices. Have a feeling this is because we commented on how slow it was for our food to come out! The waitresses told us how busy they were, 4 table of 2. Apparently we all came in at the same time! This caused us to wait a half hour for eggs, bacon, sausage, hashbrowns and French toast. The plain toast that took 5 more minutes. Never was asked if we needed a refill on drinks (sodas) after our nice long wait. Sorry, this was not worth $26 and some change.

Down home casual atmosphere. Service was attentive. Food was simple but excellent. Apparently they are known for their burgers and pies. Both were very yummy.
