Shellies Cafe Dnv: A Cozy Dining Experience in Lafayette
Reviews
I’ve come here about twice and every time it’s been the same so I believe what I’m saying is the truth and while it may not resonate with him, I believe what I’m saying is as accurate as it could be:
The food; it just tastes like dog food and looks like it too.
Service while charming in some way was not what I expected to see with heavy confusion who’s taking who’s order, what the order was and how to charge me.
I tried talking and they just would simply not understand what I was saying after they charged me seven extra dollars for an item I didn’t order, it’s very upsetting and now I just have to eat that charge.
They’re only attribute was the diner field and experience was very spot on because of course this is what it was and the food came out in a reasonably timed fashion, even after the restaurant had been packed.
The restaurant is always packed and while I can’t seem to like it, I guess a lot of the old timers do
I had previously won a gift card from Horizon Bank at the Latino Expo, and I would like to extend my gratitude to all three entities. Today, we visited Shellie’s Cafe for lunch and had a delightful time. The establishment operates on a self-seating basis, eliminating the need for waiting.
Upon entry, we were warmly greeted by a staff member. The menu is diverse, offering a wide range of options without being overly complicated. The prices are reasonable, and they serve breakfast throughout the day, along with various sandwiches.
My wife opted for the Denver omelette, while I chose the Double Cheeseburger with fries, which were available for an additional $1.99. The condiments were fresh, and I selected onion, tomato, pickles, and cheese, with one slice on each patty. The meal was satisfying, with fresh fries and a generous serving size accompanying the burger.
The omelette was fluffy and generously filled. The servers were attentive, ensuring our drinks were always replenished and offering additional items, such as jalapeños, at no extra charge. Notably, they use grenadines for Cherry Coke.
They also have outdoor seating and once the weather gets warm it will be open.
We were both pleased with our visit and have dined at several local diners, but we intend to elevate Shellie’s to our preferred spot.
It was full with my party for a walked in. You see yourself.
The waiter was nice and pretty fast.
From the time we ordered, all of our food came out about 12 to 15 minutes later. That’s very reasonable considering how packed they were. We nabbed the last available seat.
I had the Big 6 Breakfast with two eggs and toast, hash browns and sausage. Good stuff and reasonably priced for what you get.
My egg and bacon biscuit was large and fluffy.. When I chomped through the biscuit it seemed so light that I felt I was biting air. It was outstanding!
My wife’s ONE pancake (we weren’t really hungry) could have fed 2 people. It was really good from the bite I swiped!
We will visit again!
