I was in town for a business trip and saw this place on Google. I figured I’d try it. Boy, I’m glad I did. The staff is super friendly and the food is delicious. I hope that next time I’m in town, it will be around lunchtime so I can try their burgers.

We ALWAYS get greeted with a smiling face of Shelley when we walk in the door. She has resurrected this local diner to being another hot spot of the town again loved by all the locals. SHES AMAZING & BOY CAN SHE COOK! So when you give Shelley’s a try you won’t be disappointed. Great great food always served with a smile so you’ll definitely leave with a warm full belly of all your southern favorites she offers. We go every week & will continue to go. I liked going to this place. but this morning as I sat in drive thru window the lady slid open the glass handed me my food and made the comment , ” well I can sure smell Perla today ” what does that even mean. I live in perla I own a house and land there. what exactly did that comment mean. i spent my money there this morning and lots of other mornings. but not anymore.

This is my first time here after it changed from Randy’s Diner. I just loved the ham steaks at Randy’s, and drove from Benton to get one before learning about the change. I will miss Randy’s ham steaks but Shelly’s is not disappointing at all. They have good menu with lots of good options including catfish and shrimp baskets, local farm raised beef burgers, and an awesome selection of sandwiches with your choice of chips or fries (at no extra charge. One thing you need to remember is that they only serve breakfast until 10:30 am, so be there before then if you’re in the mood for breakfast. I got here too late for breakfast so I can’t comment on the options on that menu, but maybe next time. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and it was good. It was a home style breast that wasn’t thinned out from its natural shape, so it was thick and slightly crisped on the outside. The bun was grilled and it had mayo, lettuce, tomato, and pickles and I added onion. The fries are crinkle cut and cooked just right and all served in a basket. The portion sizes are good too, which is getting to be hard to find. Before I realized breakfast was over I ordered coffee but, honestly I didn’t like it at all. They were nice about it and let me switch to hot tea instead. Everyone is really sweet in here and made me feel comfortable and valued as a customer (unlike many chain restaurant employees). I will be back to visit soon and plan on being here on time for breakfast. I really enjoyed my first visit to Shelly’s Diner and recommend visiting here for a home-style meal.
