Having lived here 2 1/2 years, I’m not sure how we have missed not trying Shelba’s Place. This is a very quaint establishment run by a family. Parking during their busy time might be difficult, but it’s worth any trouble you might have. The breakfast menu is typical of a small diner. Our order was taken quickly and arrived hot. Tola, our server did a wonderful job and she got all of our special requests perfect! (That’s a big star in our book). It’s obvious that everyone knows everyone that comes in and they are made to feel welcome. So if you want some down home cooking and friendliness without all of the fancy restaurant decor, this is your place. You come in as a stranger and leave as a friend.

This place is a cute little casual restaurant that serves simple food. I got the taco salad for lunch and it was quite good. I will definitely try other things on the menu. My only criticism is that the hours are hard to keep track of, especially on Google. They also don’t have any updated online menus. I took some pics of the food and the menu.

My husband and I love to go to locally/family owned restaurants when we go to waterfalls, and I have to say this is one of the best ones we have been to. 5 stars is not enough! Our server, Larissa, was very nice and accommodating. My veggie omelette and hash browns were excellent! My husband got the special and he was very pleased too. We will be returning when we are in the area again!

Nice place for breakfast with some unique, homemade Mexican items that you don’t normally see on the menu. My wife and I stuck to the traditional breakfast foods (pancakes with bacon, omelette and hash browns) and they were delicious! Our waitress was also exceptional – she knew it was our first time there and she spent the time to explain everything. Definitely will be on our regular breakfast stops!

Small hole in the wall restaurant. Menu was confusing. Some of the items were listed more than once with different prices. Some of the foods were Hispanic with no description.
We did not have to wait to be seated. The waitress was polite. Drinks were brought quickly. Food came pretty quickly. We both orders country ham. The ham tasted sour and spoiled. We asked for it to be exchanged. They brought out bacon instead but a very small portion compared to the ham. The service would have been better if they would have come to our table without having to flag them down.
There was no hot/warm water in the bathroom. There was a sign saying so. There NEEDS to be hot water for hygiene.

We went for breakfast. He had a breakfast burrito and I ate the veggie omelet. We both had home fries loaded with veggies- tomatoes, peppers, jalepenos, onions. They have homemade hot sauce that was amazing. Service with a smile and was outstanding. Will definitely go back… they sell tamales too!!! Will try the chocolate gravy next time!

Seated and served quickly. I was in at about 8:00. A.m.. Pearl was exceptional server, running the dining room and the cash register. These small family-owned restaurants are the ones that I crave and look for. I can now add sell this place to my list of fun places to eat.
