AMAZING FOOD!! Coming from an Iranian herself who is never impressed with restaurant Persian food, I was blown away by the quality, authenticity and prices. A true taste of home. I savored every bite and licked my plate clean. I had the kabob koobideh with shallot yogurt, it was amazing and good portions. Service was excellent too. Unfortunately the owners weren’t there, otherwise I would have personally thanked them. SLO- don’t sleep on Shekamoo grill!!

Husband and I shared the 2 kabob plate. This was the perfect amount of food for 2.All of the food was amazing! We got one saffron chicken and one koobideh. This restaurant is in a cute little eatery with outside seating and fire pits as well as indoor seating.

Every dish is amazing! You really can’t go wrong.
My preferences are the Saffron Chicken plate and the Lamb burger. I didn’t get a photo of the burger. I’m sorry. I was too hungry to remember.

Some of the best Mediterranean (revised note: Persian) food I’ve ever had, chicken was melt in your mouth, eggplant dip was fantastic.. located in a kind of upscale food court sort of thing. Def worth the trip.

Shekamoo Grill is my FAVORITE PLACE to get food in slo. All of the food there is sooooo flavorful (it’s nice to go somewhere that actually uses spices). Everyone there is so nice and put up with all of my questions when I first went to help me get exactly what I wanted. They are super open to questions and clarifications if you’re feeling undecided. Also as a college student who is balling on a budget it is really nice that they have varied portion sizes to fit your budget. I usually get the bowl because it’s 6 dollars cheaper than the plate and it’s plenty of food!
My favorite things to get are the koobideh (I’m not really a meat person but I love it), the loaded potatoes (TO DIE FOR), and the chocolate pistachio cheesecake. For an order-at-the-counter spot, it sure feels like I’m dining at a restaurant.
I love bringing my girlfriend and my friends here because a lot of them are gluten free, dairy free, and/or vegetarian and the menu is super friendly to dietary restrictions.
Bonus! The owners are such kind people who you can tell really care about food, culture, and sharing with the community.

While browsing at SLO Ranch Market, I picked up some delicious chicken skewers and sides. The chicken was perfectly cooked with a nice balance of flavors. I’d definitely go back for more.

Shekamoo is a central coast gem. I have been here twice now, and both times I have found something new that I have been impressed with. The first time, I did not know what to expect from the food I had the Koobideh kabob plate, the kabob was perfect but for me the star of the experience was the presentation of the food, the bronzed tableware and the interaction with the staff during the ordering process. The person taking the order was patient and knowledgeable, and he took the time to answer all our questions. The second time here, we had more time to enjoy the food and experience. Again, the staff and owner are professionals. While waiting for our food, I watched the owner go above and beyond answering a customer’s questions and explaining options on the menu. All the staff calls each other Chef, which isn’t a big deal, but it shows a level of professionalism to the craft, which is refreshing. We waited 20+ minutes for or food, which is not a long time to wait for the quality of food presented. The owner apologized for the delay. The presentation of the food is top-notch. Look at the pictures. The taste is reflected by the quality presentation. I know this review is long. TLDR, Go here get great service and great food.

Thank you Sina, the owner of Shekamoo Grill, for contacting me to set the record straight regarding the protein portion sizes.
The Hanger Steak BOWL has 4 oz of beef and the Hanger Steak PLATE has 5.3 oz of beef. The additional $6 you pay to upsize from the bowl to the plate is definitely worth it. Especially, if you are looking to increase your daily protein intake, which you should be.
My wife and I have tried almost everything on the menu. They use good quality ingredients that are seasoned well and cooked to order.
A must try food when you are in San Luis Obispo!

It was a great dining experience—we’re super happy we can now come to Shekamoo any time of the week. We’ve been enjoying the farmers’ market for years, but being able to come in and enjoy it anytime is amazing! First-timers must get the nachos and eggplant dish! Teo is one of our top favorite starters! The owner is always around and super friendly to every guest! Highly recommend

A friend raved about their “charcoal grilled kabobs”, and wow—what a great recommendation! We went in with modest expectations because of the affordable prices, but this place absolutely exceeded them. The koobideh and steak were cooked to perfection—well-done yet still juicy, tender, and packed with flavor. Plus, every bowl and plate comes with generous sides, making each meal feel complete and satisfying. Delicious food, great value, and an experience worth going back for more. The chicken kabob was also in the league of luxury Persian restaurant quality too. If you’d
Also, nothing could beat a $2 hot tea with a piece saffron candy or a yummy baklava at the end!
Definitely recommend it.
