I visited Shehnai Restaurant for their lunch buffet, and unfortunately the experience was very disappointing.
The food quality was extremely poor the buffet items tasted stale, lacked flavor, and overall felt careless. Some dishes seemed undercooked, and one of the chicken items appeared raw, which is completely unacceptable and honestly concerning. After the meal, my stomach was upset, and I did not feel well afterward.
The service was not good at all. Staff seemed inattentive and uninterested, and basic hospitality was missing. The atmosphere and ambiance were also unimpressive nothing inviting or enjoyable enough to make up for the food issues.
In my opinion, the restaurant should stop offering the lunch buffet altogether and seriously focus on improving the quality and safety of their curries and cooked dishes. Food safety and consistency need to be a top priority.
Overall, a very poor experience and not recommended.

We recently tried the lunch buffet at Shehnai Restaurant with our kids, and it was a delightful experience! Even though the buffet offered a smaller selection, everything we tasted was bursting with flavor. The butter chicken and tandoori chicken were standouts, but the fish chili and goat curry were also delicious. To our surprise, our kids were craving dal makhani, which wasn’t on the buffet. The friendly server went above and beyond, bringing them a portion without hesitation. We left happy and satisfied – a huge win for a family outing!

Ordered Veg Samosa, Naan, chickpea masala, chicken tikka masala and palo rice. Everything except the chickpea masala was excellent. The chickpea masala tasted off. The sauce had gone bad, very sour tasting. Have ordered from Shehnai many times and never have gotten rotten food. Uber Eats would not compensate.

What a great place. Delicious dinner of 8 items for about 70$. The Briani rice is excellent and fantastic portion. Butter chicken has great flavour, it could be a bit less tomatoes. All flavours are lovely, and it feels like they are made with care
Definitely a bit messy on delivery, but that’s given based on the saucy nature of this cousin.

We’ve been visiting Shehnai for over a decade, and have always had a great meal, never been disappointed. Their lunch buffet has an offering of really great dishes, but the goat curry, tandoori chicken and butter chicken along with naans are our faves, consistently flavourful and freshly made. And the price is very reasonable compared to similar places and for the ample portions they serve. You’ll be asking for a doggy bag.
One suggestion, please write the names of the covers of the dishes on take out orders so you know what’s what.

Adding this part because she mentioned that I didn’t come to dine. This just shows her poor attitude toward people. My family orders here at least once a month. This was my first time visiting, and I think most people don’t get to see how the operations are run or how their service is. The place is always empty, and this lady is the reason for it.
We complained once about the food, and she was always rude and had an attitude; my visit confirmed it. Many people have also complained about the food quality on TripAdvisor, which I just saw. I would never buy from this place.

Came upon Shenai after systematicly going through random Indian restaurants in Hamilton.
Since then I’ve ordered here several times, always take-out.
The store doesn’t have the nicest decor, inside or out, therefore the reason for takeout. There is sufficient parking if needed though.
The naan is fresh and delicious. I like their lamb korma and their tikka-masala between other dishes. Don’t think I’ve tried anything here that wasn’t good. Maybe not the best, but definitely above average.

We have Bern ordering food from this place for the longest time, but yesterday it was the very last time.
We ordered all sort of different dishes and almost all of them was ALL SAUCE and very little paneer and /or chicken.
The dish with paneer had a few little tiny cubes ( it used to have big chunks) and all sauce.
The price is obviously the same.
It is very sad really because we have been customers since 2010.
We have noticed that the amount of sauce/chicken, chickpeas, paneer, etc ratio has changed, but it is now ridiculous.
