Hello shef,
I am writing as a loyal Shefs lover. However, I am sad. I’m home in the shire only on holidays now, and it’s such a sad experience to drive to my favorite bagel shop and see the sign “no bagels.” I bring these bagels to my roomates in Boston, I used to bring dozens back to college. I love Shefs. Can you get another oven or expand the kitchen? I had to go to bagelicious. Back in the day, my friends and I can go to Shefs at 11 and still get a bagel, I want the old Shefs back.

The bagels here are pretty good, but a few things to note. If you order something with bacon, it’s not slices — it’s more like crumbled, greasy bits. Also, they’re cash-only and don’t give receipts, so make sure to double-check your total before you leave. I was charged around $26 for 3 bagels, a small scallion cream cheese, and 3 turnovers, which seemed higher than expected.

First time visiting and the staff were very friendly. They even gave us a free bag of bagels because they were not going to be able to sell them since they were closing soon. I will definitely go back!!
Can’t go wrong with a bacon egg and cheese sandwich!

So glad I found this place! Started a new job next town over and now I have a go to for bagels! Bagels were sooooo good! Nice and chewy! Staff was very friendly, it does say cash only in the window which is a bummer because I never carry cash! The bagels are worth the $2 ATM fee!!

Came in right before they closed, gave us a half dozen for free and an extra bacon egg and cheese. Didn’t spend more than $20 for 3 bacon egg and cheese and a coffee. Insanely good.

I was rudely told cash only and told to use the ATM and had to pay $2 extra. Great service passing operating costs into your customers.
Bagels weren’t even that good honestly….
Never again….

Stopped in for the first time. Ordered a poppy seed bagel, shmear and bacon. It was not edible. It was a greasy mess. The bagel fell apart and instead of a slice of bacon they shoveled crumbled greasy bacon bits probably left on the grill. I opened the wax paper and it was oozing grease, the bagel wasn’t cut and everything fell apart. Could not eat it. A waste of time and money. Never again.

It’s a locals place. Only bagel shop for the area unless you want grocery store bagels, so I understand the following and the raving reviews. However if you’ve had bagels in shops in larger cities, I wouldn’t be impressed. They run out of bagels every day, but that doesn’t mean it’s because they’re amazing. It’s a sandwich shop so fresh bagels is better than sandwich bread. To me, the bagel I had was just average. I came by three times to try it and was quite disappointed at how ordinary the bagel was. It’s not bad but not worth a drive to seek it out. There’s another bagel shop that I think is a tad better but then again, I don’t think this area of the country is known for their bagels. However, the staff is super friendly and helpful.

The best bagels I’ve ever had hands-down. They’re chewy but soft and melt in your mouth all at the same time. The everything bagel is out of this world, especially if you make it a sandwich. Cute little spot that’s busy but they get you in and out.
