Food poisoning related review:
I’m not one to ever write a bad review, but this one is important. I’ve been a customer of this Sheetal Takeaways on Bader St for probably about 5 years now, but won’t be returning after two serious incidents of food poisoning.
A couple of months back, my parents got takeaways for themselves and were both sick for the next 1-2 days. My mum was vomiting and dad felt awful to the point he couldn’t work. We knew it was the food from Sheetal because they were the only ones in the family to eat there that night and we’d all been eating the same apart from this.
My parents figured it’d be best to speak to the store so they were aware. When they spoke to the Owner/manager, their concerns were shrugged off and dismissed as incorrect. Having been long time customers, they were very surprised at this nonchalant attitude considering how important food safety is to a proprietor and their customers.
I gave the benefit of the doubt to Sheetal that this was a freak “one off” incident as this had never been my experience. I ordered again not long after and had no issues so I assumed this was a one-off event.
However, just a few days ago, I ordered for myself and 5 others (about the third time I’d eaten from the store since my parents were sick). Everyone who ate the food fell ill that same night. Two of us were vomiting for the whole next day (including myself), and the rest felt completely awful to the verge of throwing up for about the following day or so.
Once is a mistake — twice is a pattern. And with the store unwilling to take any responsibility, I can no longer trust their food or hygiene standards. Hopefully the store makes some changes, but at least for me it’s a disappointing end to what used to be my go-to Indian spot.

Found this indian take away while driving. They have a very good deal even in dinner time. You can order the lunch deal for 11$ which covers any curries most of the veg curries, chicken, lamb or beef excluding sea food, cup of rice , naaan bread and can drink which is a best deal. Some dishes are really sweet like malai kofta and butter panneer. That’s why four stars otherwise good.

Dang! Where has this place been hiding? Gorgeous flavourful food that is steaming hot, tasty, packed with love and punch.
All dishes from here have actually been better than predicted.
Absolutely stunning Tikka masala, generous portions of meat and sauce.
Their naan is ‘chewy’ warm, buttery and has that tandoor finish.
Had no idea that this place was going to smash out the best curry I’ve had in Hamilton.
