What’s not to like about Shaw’s Landing? Absolutely nothing. This is a casual sea side restaurant that serves amazing seafood that is fresh and delicious.

We started with some calamari which was fried in lightly breaded coating that had some old bay seasoning. Absolutely loved it. The calamari was thick and larger pieces but fried perfectly.

For our mains we had the mussels and haddock and chips. Again, perfectly prepared sea food. The mussels in the garlic and wine sauce were well balanced and delicious. The haddock and fries were battered and fried to a perfect crisp. The chips were also so, so good.

This is an excellent spot for anyone making a day trip out to Peggy’s cove. I can’t wait to return to Halifax to go straight to Shaw’s for a lovely lunch.

To top off the amazing lunch, this restaurant has beautiful views and friendly staff who look after you really well.

Highly recommended!

Enjoyed a dinner on the patio. Fresh panko fried haddock and crab legs. Extremely reasonable price for what we got and it was a ton (a pound) of delicious crab legs. It felt like a generous pound. The atmosphere was wonderful, a charming little fishing village on a still water as the sun set.

Had an amazing time at Shaw’s Landing. The food was super fresh and packed with flavour — the fish was crispy and flaky, the chowder was rich, and the lobster roll was loaded. Everything hit the spot. Yeah, it’s a bit pricey, but honestly, totally worth it. The view of the water was beautiful, the vibe was chill, and the service was friendly and quick. good food, good people, and a great spot to just slow down and enjoy.

2nd time back in 14 months visiting from Vancouver, BC. My husband and I, along with our in-laws enjoyed our meal here but the lobster was overdone, rubbery. The chowder was excellent. Mussels good. The fish cakes were good but nothing crazy (lots of potato in it) and the lobster roll was decent but not the best we’ve had during our week long stay. Patio is nice with a lovely view. Service is prompt. There was a mix up with one of our sides and they forgot our fries but brought us a fresh fries after we told them about it.

Amazing spot! The lobster roll, clam chowder, and scallops were all delicious. Staff were super friendly, and the place had a great local vibe. I loved it so much that I even bought a T-shirt! Definitely the best choice we made—and it’s dog-friendly too. Can’t wait to come back next time.

Stopped here on the way back from Peggy’s Cove, as it seemed less busy. While the patio was full, we were able to grab a seat to enjoy the million dollar view . Good beer selection and great service. Didn’t eat, but the food looked great.

Fish n Chips and chowder are the best I have ate. Fish was better than places in UK. Chowder was thick and even had lobster in it and on top. Highly recommend eating here. I will return when I am in Nova Scotia.

Best scallops I’ve had so far. The fish cakes were also very good. The sweet potato fries with the curry mayo was a perfect combination. The baked beans were a bit too sweet for my liking, but that’s usually how baked beans are.

I had the best lobster roll of my life here; the browned butter is a game changer. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and the service is fast without a compromise in quality. Really reasonable prices. Also, what a beautiful patio!

Amazing lobster shack and you won’t be disappointed! From the mussels , fried or grilled scallops was the star of the meal. Those fried pickles are flavourful and need to be sold across Canada. Just be ready as this gem does get packed and wait times seem to be long but it’s worth the wait.
