Shawarma Plus is hands down my favorite restaurant for Middle Eastern food, and really my favorite restaurant overall in Washtenaw County. We get it almost once a week and it never disappoints. I’m obsessed with the mixed shawarma sandwich and the tabbouli salad.
The flavor combinations in the shawarma are so delicious and more flavorful than shawarmas I’ve had in the past. Another thing I appreciate about the shawarma sandwich is that the pita bread does not get soggy. I hate when I order a shawarma sandwich for takeout and it’s drenched in grease and sauce by the time I get home. The shawarmas from Shawarma Plus don’t suffer from this problem. The pita bread stays dry, fresh, and soft despite being stuffed with chicken, steak, veggies, garlic sauce, and tahini.
The tabbouli salad is the perfect way to balance out the meal with something fresh.
Shawarma Plus is the definition of a hole-in-the-wall hidden gem. I love the food here so much. I can’t recommend enough. Sending a heart-felt thank you to the owners/chefs for sharing their delicious food with us!

Man this is the best lil gas station whole in the wall place ive ever found. It’s ran by like 2 guys and by my 3rd visit they recognized me and i swear they made my shawarma extra pretty. There was love put into the placement of my pickles no picture will ever give justice to. Everything smacks and it isnt expensive at all. Great business and theyll be getting my money for as long as i live here. 10/10 i go at least once per week

I took one bite and almost forgot I wanted to take a picture for reviews… The chicken Shwarma is by far the best I’ve had! It was hot and delicious! Garlic sauce was best I’ve ever had! And the owner is so nice! When you see the location you wouldn’t think it delivered on flavor but it is most definitely a hidden gem!

Even though the order took a little longer than said, the service and food was one of the best I’ve encountered. Super super super great service!!! In fact, it’s just a small kitchen inside a convenience store. Innocuous. Subtle. Unassuming.
But this small kitchen has been making the best Mediterranean food in Ypsi since they opened. This spot is the true definition of a hole-in-the-wall. No flashy signs, no gimmicks, no tables or chairs. You’re not here for ambiance. There are no expectations, and that’s the beauty of it. Just a tiny kitchen, tucked away, putting out food that makes you feel good.. And that’s why we keep coming back.

This is an absolute GEM, I’ve lived in this area for a couple years, and I’m just now finding this place. It’s the food you want, portions are great. I spoke with the owner and he is the man, he just wants people to like this food, and you can tell this store is his passion. Don’t let the location fool you, there is no dine in, but that shouldn’t stop you. The garlic is on point, I ordered a large one, and it was a TON, and the prices are great.

Tried their beef & mixed Shawarma sandwich combos with fries and a drink. Sandwiches were delicious. I would definitely recommend them. We took them to go, and by the time we got home, the fries were a little soggy from being in the Styrofoam container despite that were still very tasty. The owner was the only person cooking and taking orders. Was very friendly, made conversation, and answered my questions while he was working quickly. Will definitely be going back.
