I placed an order for a shawarma combo, and after had eaten majority of the plate, just before I went to take my next bite I notice green and blue on the beef shawarma. At first, I figured it could be like a piece of plastic wrap that might’ve got caught around it or something, but after shining a flashlight on it, it was a greenish blueish that looks like a candy dye. Photos are attached for proof. Im only upset because now I dont know if im going to be sick or not and was really excited for a good new years meal.

Shawarma Express in Lombard is a hidden gem! The shawarma is absolutely delicious—perfectly seasoned and tender—and the beef Kabab is out of this world. The Chicken shawarma wrap was the skinniest wrap I’ve ever ordered. They are not consistent on how they fill the wraps. The chicken itself tastes authentic and was not dry. The other toppings add a good flavor to the wrap. Garlic sauce and fries were good. Please do better on consistency of food size

Shawarma Express is an excellent place to have a top quality meal anytime. We each tried the lunch special Chicken kefta kabob and it didn’t disappoint. The kabobs were full of flavor and generously portioned. The rice pilaf that accompanied the special was fluffy packed with flavorful.
We had to come back to try the lamb shank and the lamb chops dinners. You can order anything on their menu anytime of day lunch or diner!
You don’t need to go anywhere else for a very high end meal- it’s here and very economical! All the food is halal, cooked fresh, generously portioned and full of traditional middle eastern flavors beyond what we imagined.
The lamb- where do I begin? It was perfectly seasoned, as tender and delicious and the BEST IN THE AREA! We haven’t had lamb this good since we left Greece. 10 stars!
We also ordered falafel’s that were crispy on the outside, perfectly sized and not a bit oily. Not overly seasoned and served piping hot!
All the sauces; toum, tahini and the red sauce had their own authentic flavors. The red sauce was a wonderful blend of mint, cilantro, fresh ground tomato and herbs that gives additional flavor to the already excellent tender melt in your mouth lamb.
Several great experiences we had coming here and will continue. Mohammed the owner takes special care and pride in the food. He’s very passionate about the authentic middle eastern cuisine he’s offering to customers at his restaurant. Thank you for wonderful meals that never disappoint!

Im editing my review because somehow im upset with them. I ordered multiple times their grilled chicken platter where I found the amount of the rice is not good enough to enjoy the meal and that’s why I’m giving them 4 stars otherwise all good neat and clean ambience and environment. There’s item are very budget friendly. We ordered chicken shawarma wrap and falafel also. Chicken shawarma was sooo good, stuffed full with chicken as well as juicy also.

Decent middle Eastern restaurant in Lombard. Food tastes good. Their service was ok. The atmosphere inside the restaurant can be improved a lot. They can add some nice art and paintings inside their restaurant. There were no other customers when we went on a weekday night, wonder how they are surviving in this business.

The food is great here. All dishes are nice. But the cashier (the middle eastern guy) needs to learn how to interact with customers. He thinks that the world runs according to his likes and his set of rules. Everytime i go there, he interacts like it is some sort of interrogation. I would suggest him to relax a little bit and speak casually. On one visit with my friend there, he even kept reminding us and other customers about the closing time of the restaurant which did not felt welcoming at all. People are there to eat and enjoy your food, they’re not at a dmv. Be humble in your interactions with your customers so they come back more often. Have some flexibility man.
