This is hands down the best beef shawarma I’ve had in the Tampa area. I normally order chicken everywhere I go (not just here) because it’s always my go to, but this time we decided to try both the beef and the chicken, and the beef truly did not disappoint. It was incredibly tender, not hard to chew and cooked to perfection.

Of course, the chicken was just as delicious as expected. I highly recommend trying both! Don’t forget to ask for the pomegranate molasses and, of course, the garlic sauce, they take the shawarma to the next level.

The customer service here is a joke. We waited 30 minutes for two shawarma sandwiches, which is already ridiculous. We asked if pickles came with the shawarmas to which the guy at the counter said yes but only if we were eating there. Doesn’t make sense if I’m literally paying the same amount to dine in and also to go if the dish comes with the vegetables. I asked if they could made the order to go with the vegetables and because of that they refused to put the food in a proper container just to accommodate some vegetables?? Instead, they placed the food on a plate covered with plastic wrap even when I told them I had a 40 min drive ahead of me. They clearly had to go boxes, just out right refused to pack the food in them or give them to us to pack up our food. Even customers that were DINING IN had their food in takeaway boxes.

The guy helping us was rude and lacked professionalism. He wouldn’t even hand me a to-go container to move the food myself. On top of that, the sauce was already dumped all over the food and pickles before I even walked out, so by the time I got home it was a soggy mess. Food was very mid and I will tell everyone to avoid this spot in the future.

Loved their beef shawerma. Chicken was OK. Garlic sauce, toomieh, needs to be worked on but in general, great sandwiches. I also tried the beef shawarma hummus, it was great as well. We drive all the way from Orlando to eat there. Out of all shawerma places that I visited in Tampa, Elshami wins for sure.

For our main courses, we ordered the chicken shawarma plate and the cheese sambosa, and every single bite tasted amazing. The shawarma was perfectly seasoned and the sambosa was wonderfully crisp, with deeply authentic flavors that instantly transported us back to our balad. It is rare to find a kitchen that hits the mark this perfectly. The service was top tier being treated with upmost respect, we were all breaking our fast at the same time yet the hosts made sure we had everything first before they broke theirs.

I ordered catering for a team lunch and had an amazing experience from start to finish. They were kind enough to accommodate a pickup before their official opening time, which I truly appreciated.
Most of my coworkers had never tried shawerma before, and I can confidently say the food did not disappoint—everything was absolutely delicious. The sandwiches were fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The entire team loved the food, and several people asked me for the restaurant’s name so they could come back and try it themselves.
Great service, amazing food, and a wonderful first impression for everyone. I highly recommend Shawerma El Shami for catering or any group meal—you won’t regret it!

It is very delicious and healthy portion in my opinion. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed each and every bites of the meal. Salad leaves look clean and fresh just as the seating area. Reasonable price. The meat is a bit chewy but not salty, not oily or overwhelming with spices, just the right amount. Overall a great meal for this Friday lunch.

Shawarma El Shami in Tampa is hands down one of the best spots for authentic shawarma. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and made perfectly every time. The shawarma is juicy, well-seasoned, and the portions are generous.

The staff is friendly and welcoming, and the service is quick even when it’s busy. You can tell they really care about quality and consistency.

Both the chicken and beef shawarma are incredibly delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned. The staff is genuinely kind, generous, and their warm hospitality really makes you feel welcomed. The prices are surprisingly very good for the quality you get, which makes the whole experience even better. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to.
