Food was great! Fried chicken could of been seasoned more…I prefer bold flavors! Mac-n-Cheese, Sweet Potatos, and corn on the cob were packed with flavor, tho! However, the corn on the cob seemed a bit too soft for my preference, but other than that, I would go back and try other dishes. Oh and the Carmel cake was !! I hope to try his Snickers cupcakes one day!! Plates are kinda expensive…1 meat, and 3 sides was $25, but food was home-cooked quality. I figured u can spend over $20 at Culver’s when not choosing their value meals and their food not home-cooked quality, so in that case I didn’t mind splurging this time. Highly recommended.

Straight fire! I pass through Peoria occasionally and have been wanting to eat here for a while and it did not disappoint! What can I say that others haven’t? I had the pot roast with greens, mac n cheese and sweet potatoes. All were great but the pot roast and greens were the best I’ve ever had in my life! Chef Shaun clearly loves what he does and puts some soul in the food he serves up. He’s also a cool dude and a pleasure to talk to. He should be proud of what he’s doing and I wish him blessings in the future and continued success! Looking forward to my next visit!

I’ve eaten here multiple times and the pot roast has got to be some of the best pot roast around!
I usually order the jerk nachos or baked chicken when those specials are available. Service has been great both times with a family environment which def put the home cooked feeling into play.! I try my best to make it down there at least one a week for Sunday dinners!

This was the best all around meal I’ve had in Peoria. The spot might not look like much but Chef Shaun delivers flavor. The greens were incredible. The catfish was perfectly cooked. My friend had the catfish tacos and it had this sauce on it that was perfect. Get here!!

I love the guy behind the counter good vibes, but the food was trash.

Oh my tried Chef Shaun’s Soul Food today. It was so darn good and flavorful. I had the pot roast, corn, greens and sweet potatoes. All were top notch. The greens were the best I have ever had. Truly one of the better meals I have had in Peoria for quite some time.

Shaun Chef Soul Food is the definition of comfort on a plate. I’ve eaten soul food all over the country, and I can say without hesitation that this place is serving up some of the best I’ve ever had — especially the pot roast and mac and cheese.
The pot roast was absolutely perfect — melt-in-your-mouth tender, slow-cooked with care, and seasoned so deeply it tasted like a Sunday dinner made by someone’s grandma who really knows what she’s doing. Rich, savory, and soul-soothing.
And the mac and cheese? Unreal. Creamy, cheesy, with just the right amount of baked crust on top. It didn’t taste like a side — it was a whole event. If you love real-deal mac and cheese, this is the gold standard.
The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere felt warm and authentic. You can tell a lot of pride and love goes into every dish coming out of that kitchen.
