Highly recommend this new middle Eastern restaurant that cooks your food fresh and like homemade. You can sit inside or outside it is very pretty and clean. I will definitely be back.
What really sets Shatira apart is the overall experience. The restaurant is easy to access, making it convenient to drop by, and it’s impeccably clean. They have an open kitchen layout, so you can see the staff at work—everyone wears gloves and hats, and the whole environment is spotless. Compared to other Mediterranean spots around Tempe, Mesa, Chandler, and Scottsdale, this place really shines because of that homemade quality and genuine Middle Eastern flavor—like something straight out of Palestine, Syria, or Lebanon. In short, it doesn’t matter how big the restaurant is; it’s all about how good the food tastes, and Shatira nails it. Definitely worth a visit!
The menu is well-rounded and offers a great variety of authentic Mediterranean dishes, from flavorful Halal shawarma and grilled kababs to fresh falafel. I was impressed with the portion sizes—you definitely get a generous amount of delicious, high-quality food for your money. My dish was incredibly tasty, with all the fresh and robust flavors you’d hope for in authentic Mediterranean cuisine.
The only thing to note is that Shatera operates on the principle of making everything fresh, and they have a sign up to let you know your meal will take a little extra time to prepare. While the wait is a bit long compared to typical fast-casual restaurants, it’s absolutely worth it for the quality and freshness. The prices are also slightly on the higher side, but the quality of ingredients and generous portions justify the cost for a true culinary treat. The friendly staff make the entire experience even more pleasant, and I can’t wait to go back to try more of their menu.
They make the best pita pocket I’ve ever had. It is filled with an unreal amount of stuff and the flavors are excellent. You can kind of expect that as soon as you walk in and see the nice modern design and how clean the place is.
Now let’s move onto the plates, the quantity that you get is very reasonable for the price. I tried every meat and I honestly cannot tell you that any were worse than the other. They were all excellent from the chicken to the beef/gyro. I’m not a big falafel guy, but I had their entire falafel pocket which they nicely top off with eggplant
Now let’s move onto the drinks, I’ve never talked about fountain drinks at a restaurant before. But they carry Jones fountain drinks, you know those Jones bottle sodas that we all buy.. they have it on tap!
This place is definitely five stars in every way from the people to the food to the atmosphere.
There’s a small spot near us that feels like a secret you stumble upon. My wife and I have tried every Middle Eastern competitor (Green Corner etc) in Arizona, and nothing compares.
The flavors here are honest and enchanting — spiced chicken that tastes like it’s carrying an old recipe across borders, hummus smooth enough to win peace treaties, and dessert that ambushes you in the best way.
This place doesn’t just serve food; it delivers a message: You’ve found authenticity!
Our absolute favorite Middle Eastern spot in Arizona.
