For food, I indulged in a small plate of brisket tacos and the Brisket Mac and Cheese with mushrooms. The tacos are divine, and I highly recommend pairing them with a good beer. The flavors are wonderful, enhanced by a bright avocado salsa. They can be a little messy, so keep a napkin handy.
For my entrée, I chose the Brisket Mac and Cheese topped with mushrooms. It has a rich, cheesy flavor with just a hint of heat from the Fresno chiles. The sauce was slightly grainy—but still tasty enough that it didn’t detract from the dish. The brisket adds a smoky touch, while the mushrooms bring an earthy umami note. Customize it or enjoy it as-is; either way, it’s a satisfying choice.
Overall, I would highly recommend Sharp’s Roadhouse as a great place to grab a bite before your flight.
There was absolutely nothing special about the food here. The drink was decent, but I’ve had better. The service was good at the bar. However, the gnats were a nuisance…so beware if you sit at the bar.
The bartenders were super busy but took the time to check in with me often. As for the food, I asked for recommendations and received a few options…some said the Prime Rib and any of the sandwiches were good and someone else said to try the Salmon pasta. I ordered the Salmon pasta and a side Caesar Salad.
The Caesar Salad was excellent – very filling – the dressing tasted homemade and I could taste the anchovies. It was perfect.
The salmon pasta was a let down – the pasta was good, but the salmon was not what I expected. Some pieces were soft and mushy, others were firm, but the taste was NOT fresh and I ended up stopping from eating the rest of it. In fact, later that evening, the salmon had caused me an upset stomach, and it did not end well.
The old fashioned I tried was a classic and it was a bit on the sweet side, which I like. I would love to have tried the smoky version, but the classic was recommended.
All in all, it was not too loud inside, even with all the chaos caused by an outage of their computers. Sitting at the bar at the end of the counter is NOT recommended. There is too much going on and you get the smells of the cleaning when they break down the bar, along with many of the servers talking about their tables and their day.
I would recommend trying what you like – especially trying some pasta, it’s homemade inside the restaurant and so tasty. It also did NOT spike my blood sugar, being a diabetic. All went well.
I would also try any of the salads – they do a great job with those.
The meal tonight started out with a personal sized portion of corn bread. I ordered one of the chicken and past dishes with ground tellichery pepper – the portion was balanced and I left satisfied.
Everyone on staff that I met with courteous and it made for a pleasant evening!
The dish pictured was $35 after tip and I’d totally eat it again!
