Was visiting SoCal and had 100% intention on going to my go-to clean eats spot, Waba Grill for lunch. However, was out on a morning run and saw this place and the name was catchy so I decided to look it up when I got back to the hotel. I liked the menu so gave it a shot. So glad I did! It was EXCELLENT. I went with the Full Plate – Steak and Shrimp, Quinoa and Roasted Veggies. It’s not fast food, it’s made to order. While I waited I had some fresh tortilla chips and chose a few salsas from their salsa bar. The employees were super friendly, came out and got my plate afterwards (I ate outside), and it was a clean restaurant with a great vibe. I’ll def go back when I’m in SoCal again. Highly recommend!

Sharky’s was recommended to me from a local when I stayed in Camarillo on business, and it was a great recommendation! I’m a big fish taco guy, and I had a hard time narrowing down what to order, so I ended up ordering more food than I could possibly eat. I ordered the Grilled Shrimp Taco, the Salmon Taco, and the Achiote Grilled Tofu and Veggies Taco – along with a side of rice and beans, and a Sangria to wash it all down.
The grilled shrimp taco was definitely my favorite, but honestly, I really liked all three – they certainly ranked up there in the top 10% of seafood tacos I’ve had. The Achiote tofu taco was a little bland compared to the other two, and that was mostly due to the plane tofu. If the tofu had been seasoned and grilled, it would have made a world of difference. Don’t get me wrong – I’m not complaining since it was really good, just offering a suggestion for improvement! All three tacos tasted very fresh due to their fresh ingredients. Also, the presentation was beautiful – they looked truly appetizing and looked just like their marketing photos. The rice and beans were pleasant, although not spectacular. The sangria was just okay although it tasted a bit watered down.
Each dish comes with a small handful of chips as well, and there is a fresh salsa bar with a good assortment of options. I tried a number of the salsas, and my favorite was the guacamole salsa, followed by the spicy red salsa – both of which had robust flavors. I was a little disappointed with the chili verde salsa, which was a touch on the bland side.
The atmosphere was inviting and casual, although the restaurant was a bit small. It had a modern and somewhat chic-Mexican style. Next time I’m in Camarillo, I am definitely coming back!

What a treat. All of you pilots out there that flew into Camarillo but don’t have an hour or two to wait to get into “Waypoint Cafe” grab an Uber (5 min. ride) and have them take you to sharky’s wood-fired Mexican grill. Off the planet! Everything’s super fresh and this isn’t your common Mexican fair. Obviously a local’s favorite, The place was packed but we had no trouble finding a booth to sit in the three of us. We flew in from San Diego just to have lunch at Waypoint that didn’t work out too well The line was around the block, I searched Google maps and Sharkey’s came up We thought we’d give it a try. Glad we did. I had the fajitas and asked for mixed chicken and beef It was extraordinary The vegetables are all grilled so it made it incredibly tasty. People are just having fun in there and you can tell the vibe the environment the food it’s all great. We’ll be back that’s for sure.
