Stepping through the entrance, guests are enveloped in an enchanting ambience that seamlessly marries sophistication with vivacious energy. The outdoor seating area beckons with a serene retreat, while the main room pulsates with the invigorating beats of a trendy discotheque, creating an unforgettable fusion of dining and nightlife. At Sharkey’s, every moment is an exquisite symphony of flavors and ambiance, leaving patrons craving a return to this distinguished culinary sanctuary.
They have a small draft selection, the service tends to be pretty slow, and the food was mid. They are a wing place, but the wings were sorta just fine (honestly like BWW better and that’s saying something). Also the sauces spice levels are poorly labeled, they are not as hot as they make them sound. Got a level 5 or 6 and couldn’t even tell it was spicy. 7 is a good start for those who like that. I know it’s personal preference but figured I’d give a warning for those who care.
All that said, those I was with liked it well enough to go back, so it all comes to preference. I believe Blacksburg has plenty of great places to go in Sharkey’s stead.
For our go-to dishes. We got burgers and wings. The wings were pretty good. Always hot and noticeably crispy with nice flavor from a sauce of your choice.
The burgers which we got on the BOGO Mondays are also pretty solid. Don’t expect the burger to be cooked to your expected likeness but you can expect a burger that hits the craving having all the elements you’d want from a burger.
Overall, would say it’s a fairly solid establishment. Good wings (albeit kind of pricey), solid burgers, and service/atmosphere that leaves no complaints.
We are new to the VT community and had just finished up with a faculty meet greet for new students and families. As a family; myself, wife (VT New Dept. Managment), twin boys elementary age, toddler boy, were promptly seated and pleasantly presented our menu options for kids. It was satisfying for our picky eaters. Just what we needed.
Ariel, our waitress + server + genuinely attentive + awesome individual with kids, gave us one of the best service experiences for our boys dining out, EVER! All the boys gravitated to her kindness. As a parent we appreciate you, Captain Ariel for sharing the booty of Sharky’s Treasure Chest and will be back regularly.
The worst part is the staff though. Some of the rudest encounters I’ve had with any restaurant or bar employees. They are known to kick out for very small things and mistakenly think people are drunk. Staff needs to be trained better on customer service. I honestly blame management and the owner.
Don’t go here if you want a good and chill bar experience.
