First, Food was Amazing…taste, spice, freshness and a wide variety beyond what we were expecting.
Drinks were also delicious. Manchester Mule was smooth and can’t go wrong with Rum Punch where you taste the liquor as you should.
Service was pretty good. Waitress and Cook were friendly and professional. Drinks took a little bit but we’ll worth the wait.
Atmosphere was nice, art and vibes fit except the TV doing having weird shows on

Excellent from the time we were greeted in the parking lot until we left. I am so glad that we decided to stay and wait for the doors to open. The beef ribs and jerk chicken were seasoned to perfection, tender and moist. The beans & rice and plantain were seasoned very well. We cannot forget the coco bread – it was excellent. If you happen to be in the Bowie area, you must stop in Shantoo Togetherness. You can get your food as spicy as you like it or not too spicy at all. Will definitely go back and highly recommend a visit.

Excellent curry chicken and shrimp combo! I really like the cabbage and the rice & peas. What I did not like, was that the price quoted in the menu ($23) was not what I was charged on my bill. It was $5 more on the final bill ($28) and there wasn’t a reasonable explanation on why the price was increased. Although the server was pleasant, she received a smaller tip because of this price gauging.

Shantoo is the happy hour spot you need after a long day of work… great food.. good drinks… and vibes.The oxtails sooo tender you don’t need a fork. The brown stew chicken flavored to perfection and the coco bread was nice and warm. Of course I had to try the rum punch made me miss the hot weather and beaches of the Caribbean..

After reading the reviews. I wasn’t sure. Unexpectedly. The food was really good. Jerk wings fell off the bones. Beef ribs were succulent. Saw fish and ackee was the best I’ve ever had. Melt in your mouth.

Very nice staff, nice vibe inside, very good food. We had the goat curry and jerk chicken. The seasoning and spice profile made the meals better the more you ate. We WILL be coming again!

I went to try this place based on seeing it on Instagram. My companion and I really really wanted to like this place, but it definitely fell short of expectations. If we would have been able to sustain just from photos alone it would be great. The best thing about this restaurant was the social media page and photos.
We ordered the combination oxtail and curry goat with rice,callaloo. I ordered the jerk pork which where I’m from consists of roasted pork with intense jerk seasoning slow cooked. What i got was tough grilled thin cut porkchops. My sides were rice, plantain and a Roti.
The roti was clearly frozen and reheated in the microwave,extremely chewy in some spots and rock hard in others. The oxtail was mid,the curry goat was watery as was the jerk sauce on my pork chops. I felt like when I requested mild, they took the sauce, added water and stirred it up. The service was a 3. I truly hate that I even have to write this review but I’d love for this place to be better in food preparation and recipes. I was so looking forward to eating here.

Upon driving up I’m immediately excited because this place looks like a Jamaican Hut from the outside so I know this gonna be goodt . We walk in and we are immediately hit in the nose with the smell of pine it was awful . I didn’t smell any food. There was a nice gentleman who greeted us. Y’all know I love good customer service. He immediately sat me and my sister. He said they have an electronic menu. I have my drink order and went to the restroom y’all the womens bathroom was disgusting so I went to the mens and the toilet tissue was stuck on the the other side it was a mess. I finally go and run back to the front and tell the gentleman the bathrooms are atrocious. I instantly became irritated. I knew I was in the mood for oxtails so I ordered the oxtails and curry goat combination with plantains and a garden salad as my my side $44!!! My oxtails was too sweet no salt or seasoning but it was tender so I guess I get what I can the goat is tender but no salt or seasoning. The plantains were good. My salad was just Arugula, white onion and shredded carrots. No cucumber no tomato I ordered saltfish fritters and it was really no saltfish in it just dough and grease. I ordered steam dumplings they were not soft at all. I’m like damn. I paid way too much for this food and the mediocre service. I always give places another chance. Went to Shantoo for the first time to pick up food. The ordering service was ok but the food once ai got it home leaked all over in my car the paper bag they gave me was soaking wet from the spillage of the curry chicken and brown stew chicken. the sides was in a brown paper container that also got wet from the curry and brown stew juice because of the filmsy containers they give everything fell out so the curry is dry and so is the brown stew chicken . This food was inedible . This is poor service and packaging. Will never go back!!!
