We drove 30+ minutes for this meal and we will be coming back!! Quick service, friendly staff, and authentic flavors!
The staff customized the vegetable fried rice with no mushrooms for me. The scallion oil noodles were cozy and not too oily. The chocolate and pork dumplings remind us of Din Tai Fung (and are a little better). I’d come back just for the crispy scallion pancakes.
10/10 recommend!!! We will be back!

You seriously can’t go wrong at Shanghai Taste! The pan-fried pork buns are absolute perfection — crispy on the bottom, juicy and flavorful on the inside. Every dish tastes incredibly fresh, and the food comes out fast without sacrificing quality.
On top of that, the service is so friendly and attentive, which makes the whole experience even better. This place is a gem in Plano and definitely one we’ll keep coming back to!

First time customer, I did get take away but very much look forward to coming in person and trying a lot more thing on the menu. Hands down top 5 Chinese cuisine in DFW. I have nothing bad to say, everything was fresh, flavorful and well portioned. I got the Shanghai Fried Rice with chicken, Sheng Jian (Pan fried soup dumplings), Scallion Pancake and chocolate steamed dumplings filled with banana and Nutella. I was told to try the duck so I will be back for that and much more. If you’re on the fence just do it, it’ll be worth it.

Our first visit was great. From the fried and steamed rice to the Xiao Long Bao and even onto the Fried Chicken – everything had so much flavor. And, the chocolate dumplings were the icing on the cake. Not too sweet, and great flavor.
The Xiao Long Bao were juicy with plenty of savory broth, the fried chicken came out perfectly crispy and tender, and the rice dishes were well-seasoned and satisfying. Service was friendly and efficient, and the place has a nice, welcoming vibe. Those chocolate dumplings were a delicious surprise—rich but balanced, and a fun way to end the meal. We’ll definitely be back to try more.

Tried short ribs, fried rice, hot & sour soup, the spicy wontons and egg rolls. Let just say that it was the best tasting food I’ve had in a while. The service was terrific and very attentive. I finished my experience with their fried mini balls with condensed milk and it was
I can’t wait to be back!

Absolutely loved this place! The pan-fried soup dumplings (shengjian bao) were amazing — super juicy and full of flavor. The sweet and sour pork ribs were also really good. They even gave us complimentary sweet rice balls in fermented rice soup, which was such a nice touch
The Shanghai-style vegetable rice was delicious too — very authentic and truly tastes like Shanghai. Will definitely come back!

Very nice elegant Shanghai style restaurant with quick and great service. Menu is excellent and food is so delicious. One of the best Xiao long bao in Dallas. Both traditional and crab yolk juicy dumplings are delicious. Another great thing is they open since 10 in the morning on weekdays and 9 on weekends. Highly recommended.

Everything we got here was SOLID (check out the pics). Our favorite would probably be the noodles combo’d with the duck. Both had so much flavor and went so well together. The XLB and spicy wontons were good as well! Will definitely be back to try the other things on the menu. So glad to have something like this close by! I would say almost a nearby simple DTF dupe haha

Looks can be deceiving – it’s a narrow, galley-style restaurant with no frills but the food was insanely delicious. We had the fried soup dumplings, hand pulled Shanghai-style noodles with chicken, sweet and sour pork ribs, and wonton soup. It was SO good, and my girls loved watching the employees hand-make dumplings in the open window. We will be back!

Shanghai Taste truly impressed me. The xiao long bao (soup dumplings) were perfection — thin, delicate skin that didn’t break, and packed with rich, flavorful broth. You can tell they’re made fresh with care. The pan-fried buns (sheng jian bao) were equally amazing — perfectly golden and crispy on the bottom, soft and juicy inside, with that hint of sesame and scallion on top that made every bite satisfying.
The service was friendly and efficient, and everything came out piping hot. The restaurant itself is clean, bright, and comfortable — exactly the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again.
If you love authentic Shanghai-style dumplings, this place is a must-visit!
