Shanghai Garden #1 was such a pleasant surprise. I had never been before and left genuinely impressed.
The atmosphere feels very neighborhood driven. It was full of regulars and you could see the staff greeting people like old friends, which always says a lot about a place.
We tried a variety of dishes and everything was well executed. The panda baos with red bean were soft and slightly sweet. The cucumber salad was crisp and refreshing with great flavor. The pork xiao long bao had a nice amount of broth and were properly seasoned. The egg custard buns were light, smooth, and not overly sweet.
Overall, the food was consistent and satisfying, and the service felt warm and welcoming. I would definitely recommend stopping by, especially if you are in the Centennial area and craving solid dim sum style bites.

Shanghai Garden is the kind of restaurant that makes you feel relaxed and happy from the moment you walk in. The space is spotless, the decor warm and inviting, and the overall atmosphere cozy and comfortable—perfect for settling in and enjoying a great meal.
The staff are wonderful, too. The hostess and waitresses were genuinely friendly and attentive, adding to the welcoming vibe that makes dining here such a pleasure. The cocktails were another highlight—beautifully presented and incredibly well mixed, with just the right balance of flavors.
As for the food, everything we tried was fantastic. The Hunan chicken with five spice was packed with bold, delicious flavor, while the rice cakes dinner was a real standout—perfectly chewy and bathed in a savory, well-seasoned sauce that tied the dish together beautifully.
Every detail, from the service to the food to the ambiance, feels thoughtfully done. We’ll definitely be back again and again.

33+ year customers dine-in and food is consistently 5-star. We rarely take-out living farther away but we did on a Sunday. Ordered three lunch meal entrees and a side order of (additional two) eggrolls. We only received one small cup (pictured) of sweet & sour dipping sauce (great stuff) for a total of 5 eggrolls.
Not crazy about the 5% fee for take- out; unfortunately it just means we order less or order less often.

The restaurant offers Americanized Chinese cuisine. Its pleasant atmosphere, friendly service, and quick food delivery were notable; however, I had hoped for authentic Chinese dishes from a “hidden” menu, which proved unavailable here. The taste was merely acceptable, nothing extraordinary.

Very impressed with Shanghai Garden! Ordered takeout and the service was top notch. The ambiance was beautiful and the food was freshly prepared with unexpected veggies that complimented the combo Egg Foo Young. Was very delicious with quality ingredients. I will definitely be back and will dine-in next time.

I enjoyed my visit a lot. I spent about $90 (not including tip) for an order of the delicious cheese wontons, fried pork dumplings (not our favorite), BBQ pork bao was really good, small egg drop and wonton soup (both good, wonton better for me) and sesame beef (which comes with rice) SOOO good! We also got the pomegranate martini and cosmo martinis. Very well done and thanks for the excellent service from our waiter Ping!

Delicious Asian food every time. We discovered this restaurant when we were renting nearby. We are now further from the restaurant but still make the drive to get takeout. We recently ordered the sesame chicken and it is the best I’ve had. They use real chicken breast and it’s so moist and delicious. Sesame chicken I’ve had at different establishments is parts of chicken and less desirable. We highly recommend Shanghai Garden!

An expensive version of Panda Express – heavily sauced entrees and the sauce tasted like it came out of a bottle. The eggrolls were dry and not sparkling with oil as if they just came out of the wok. Rather, they looked as if they were cooked earlier and reheated. I was so looking forward to trying this restaurant because of the large egg rolls featured on their website. This Peoria & Arapahoe site has only been open 7 months. The wait staff was great and so was the ambiance. Too bad the food left much to be desired. Sadly, I will not be going back. Haven’t found a good chinese restaurant in the Denver area yet. Guess being from back east and eating Chinese food in Boston and NYC has spoiled me for expecting the real deal.

I ordered pickup but the restaurant is lovely and of course the food is wonderful. We ordered sesame chicken with extra veggies and Mongolian Beef. The savory sweet combo is our fav. Plus some pot stickers as apps. We always have leftovers which is part of the joy. The cost has gone up but it’s still worth it.
