Nice, clean, and casual spot to pop by for some generous soup dumplings, delicious soup, and great stir-fry dishes. Incredibly fast service. Very reasonable prices. Authentic food.

Was excited to try this place, but it just isn’t good enough to recommend.
The dishes were westernized and mediocre quality. The price point is decent, so I don’t care that the ambiance is mid, but the food leaves a lot to be desired. Ex. we ordered two spicy dishes that had no spice…mapo tofu was almost sweet, and seemed to have a basic frozen mix of peas/carrots (certainly not the satisfying combo of spiciness and numbing that you might expect). Spicy pork and chive dumplings were good (except for not being spicy), but not worth me returning.
In an area with several restaurants offering similar dishes, I don’t think this place can compete. The people were kind enough though and I wish them well.
Portions are good if their dishes are your style!

All dishes we ordered were too salty. The host/server/owner was nice and offered to remake the cucumber but we used water to remove the excess salt instead. Prices were reasonable. The atmosphere was casual.

One of the best Chinese food I’ve had. The only thing I would change is the broth for the Shanghai style wonton soup. It had way too much white/black pepper. If you’re the owner please taste the dish and fix accordingly. Other than that everything is very good!

Amazing food, fresh and delicious! Service was incredibly fast, even with a crowded group. Restaurant was nice and clean. Food came out within minutes of ordering. Affordable and quite cheap for the portion size, excellent bang for your buck.
1000/10! Would come again!

When you need dumplings and want them now Shanghai Dumpling King has you covered. These are some seriously delicious dumplings in a no frills – straight to the dumpling sort of way. Dont expect any fussy small talk from the staff – this place is all about the food. Make sure to get the green beans and cucumber salad they are awesome and the dumpling are pretty darn good too. My advice – order something off the main menu too – or else an all dumplings order can be very glutenous. This is a non fancy – straight to the point eatery. And do yourself a favor and skip the bathroom – it’s not in business for the facilities:)

Friendly staff, attentive and efficient. Food was generally on point, prices reasonable. I actually liked the other standard dishes over the XLB although it was well steamed (with well done thin, chewy skin) and lots of meat filling (although the filling was somewhat of the mystery meat consistency). Not much to speak of for decor and overall somewhat run down inside but food quality is more important to me so I would go back if hankering for Chinese food! Parking is the usual hit or miss street parking, can be difficult to find around that area.

Hidden Gem!
We stumbled upon this restaurant spontaneously when our first choice had an unbearably long waitlist. What a pleasant surprise it turned out to be! The service was exceptional—prompt and friendly. As for the food, we savored the hot and sour thick soup and spicy pork and shrimp dumplings. They were simply delicious. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this place!

Amazing food and service at a great price point! This is my go-to neighborhood spot. I’ve ordered take-out 10+ times and have also dined in many times. The staff are quick and very friendly – and the food is delicious!! Highly recommend the Shanghai rice cakes, sautéed pea shoots, general chicken, and twice cooked pork.
