Cute restaurant on the water with an excellent beach view. The couple that run the place are adorable. Super friendly. The food’s great; classic American Chinese. The potstickers are homemade and delicious, and the fried oysters were excellent as well.

Hands down the best meal I’ve had in a very long time.

We are a family of 6 with 4 young kids. We loved the play area for kids, I wish more places offered this amenity.

The food was fantastic. We ordered a large quantity of food and we didn’t have a bite leftover. It was that good!

We visit the area often and will definitely be returning here, as we have all agreed, this is our family’s new favorite restaurant.

Every employee we encountered was nice and friendly and engaged with us and our children.

Thank you!!

I’ve been there three times and have not been happy any of those times. The first time I went there someone recommended the Shanghai beef. I didn’t want the deep fried beef so I just got plain cooked beef.
I found the dish to be bland and unappealing. The second time I went I got the Honey Walnut prawns. It was so rich and had so much mayonnaise on it. I couldn’t even eat it. However, I did have barbecued pork as an appetizer and that was good. Tonight was the third time I went and thought I would try the sizzling prawns. Through a communication mix-up I got sizzling scallops. I tried to eat them but I just really don’t like scallops. So I thought I’d try some barbecued pork and eat it with what I had left of my vegetables. It wasn’t as good as the first time so, I was a disappointed with that. They did take the sizzling scallops off the bill.
It is a family-owned restaurant and I believe the server is the daughter of the chef. She has a total lack of enthusiasm isn’t particularly friendly and she dresses like she just came in from walking around town with her friends. All three times I’ve been there there was only one or two other tables with customers. Their service slow even though there’s no one in there.
I will not be going back to the Shanghai restaurant.

As soon as we sail into Point Hudson, I’m already deciding what to order at Shanghai Chinese Restaurant. It’s our go-to spot as soon as we hit town. Most recently, we had the Sizzling Beef, Garlic Chicken, and BBQ Pork Fried Rice— each dish overflowing with generous tender cuts of meat, perfectly crisp vegetables, and fried rice that was downright amazing, I ordered another fried rice to go!

The restaurant is tucked right in the Port Hudson Marina and RV Park, looking out over Port Townsend Bay. The building exterior might appear a bit rustic, but don’t let that fool you—the food is consistently good. I noticed they also offer take-out/delivery service. After years of dining in NYC and SF, I can honestly say this has become one of my favorite American-style Chinese restaurants.

Personal friendly service the moment we walked in . The owner/chef came out to us and talked with making us feel so welcome.
A wonderful experience. The Wor won tong soup was delicious and filled with tons of fresh veggies and won tons and pork !

The service and food was wonderful. Lilly was a treasure and she made us feel at home. We ordered the coconut shrimp and egg roll appetizers… super yummy! For dinner I had the shrimp and beef and my husband had the cashew chicken. The presentation was beautiful but the taste was even better. We have been coming to port townsend for years but never tried the restaurant… we now have a new place to frequent!

I’m always happy, full, and wowed when leaving Shanghai. With left overs, and don’t feel like I’m breaking the bank!
10/10 every time

locals love Shanghai.

i think their version of pho noodle soup comes together a lot better than the local competition. ask about tendon.

solid yellow curry and lots of access to nice fresh veg without a ton of grease.

Jason still runs this place with his beloved mother Nu, but this local institution (soon to celebrate 40 years in business) sadly won’t be around forever.

the smell is the creosote piles the ancient place is built on.

A fun and good Chinese food experience. The service was excellent, everyone was very nice and considerate. All of the food was very good. All of the things you would want in a Chinese restaurant is here. It is the Chinese restaurant you want to go to. If you are in town, or not, I definitely recommend.

Food was amazing tasting and presentation was beautiful. Four in our party and we each ordered something different and each person enjoyed their meal. I loved the sizzling rice soup. The general Tao’s chicken was a hit, too. Everything was so good that 3 of our party went back the next day for more! Jason treated us well and made us feel special. Next time in PT, we’ll be back!
