The most disappointing part of the experience was that, while we were still eating, the staff began clearing our dishes without asking. It felt as though they were rushing to prepare the table for the next guests. That said, the house fried rice was the most enjoyable dish of the meal.

Orange chicken and Tofu eggplant were two options worth trying.
Overall, the food is good and is worth a try. We ordered a bunch of items and thoroughly enjoyed them.
The thing that we hated most about the place was its service. The waitress was clumsy at best where she spilled water on the table and took 5 mins to bring napkins to clear it up. She did it again to the table next to us. Anytime we requested anything, she would forget and needed another reminder.
When we gave her 12% tip, she had the audacity to call us back and demanded 18% tip.
The standout dish of the day was definitely the spicy beef noodle soup, which delivered bold flavors and just the right amount of spice to tantalize the taste buds. The pork soup dumplings and pan-fried chive buns were also enjoyable, meeting our expectations in terms of taste and quality.
In terms of service, we found the staff to be attentive and accommodating, ensuring that our needs were promptly met throughout the meal.
While Shanghai Bun may not be for everyone, it delivers solid food and service that are in line with expectations. Overall, it’s a decent option for a casual lunch, and I wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future.
The selection of dishes we ordered was extensive, encompassing various flavors and textures. However, despite the diverse array of options, we found the overall execution to be average. The flavors lacked the distinct punch and authenticity that we had come to expect from Shanghai Bun. While some dishes were satisfactory, they failed to leave a lasting impression.
One area where Shanghai Bun fell short was consistency. While we have had exceptional meals at this establishment in the past, this particular visit did not live up to our previous experiences. It left us longing for the exceptional flavors and culinary craftsmanship that we had come to associate with Shanghai Bun.
Despite the disappointing food experience, it’s important to note that the service at Shanghai Bun was friendly and attentive. The staff members were courteous and promptly attended to our needs. However, we feel that the overall dining experience relies heavily on the quality of the dishes served.
The ambiance of the restaurant was pleasant, offering a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The traditional decor and comfortable seating created a suitable setting for a relaxed meal. The noise level was moderate, allowing for conversation without overpowering background noise.
In conclusion, our recent dining experience at Shanghai Bun was average, leaving us with mixed feelings. While the service was commendable and the ambiance enjoyable, the food fell short of our expectations. We have previously had better meals from Shanghai Bun, which leads us to believe that this visit may have been an exception rather than the norm. We hope to see improvement in the future, as we know the potential for exceptional flavors exists within Shanghai Bun’s kitchen.
But don’t let me be your judge, see for yourself, and enjoy. GREAT FOOD!!! No fancy decor, just great food. Our server was great, and our food was hot. Have a good time.
The prices are good, and the portion sizes are more than generous. Honestly, their average main course could be shared between two people.
Not to be missed is the restaurant’s traditional appetizers section, Dim Sum.
The service is friendly and efficient.
If you are a culinary adventurous type and would like to sample the really authentic Shanghai specialties, we would suggest you look at the restaurant’s menu online and do your research. Some staples, such as tendon and black mushroom gluten puffs, need some getting used to.
We stopped by at the rather unusual time, briefly after 5 p.m., on a Friday. Shanghai Bun was almost full. That should give our readers a rough idea of how popular the restaurant really is.
