Today I took a chance at getting the hamburger, mind you im not a big meat eater. But for 18.00 I am not satisfied.
I was hoping for a handmade patty with that greasy grill flavor & lettuce that was not shredded. The fries were not cooked all the way and not very warm, but as far as the sour dough, it is probably what I enjoyed the most of the combo meal.
Sorry.
Youre burgers are not presentable.
2nd Trip 2/5:
Got the seafood platter to go. I waited 10 or 15 minutes in the drive through for it. The guy running the front was super friendly and personable. It went downhill from here. I picked up my food and drove 3 minutes down the road (literally .1 miles) and opened it up. Almost everything was soggy already. They underfried almost everything. Catfish was still good but not crispy at all. Shrimp was still good but lost a bit of breading. The oysters were a mushy abomination. Stuffed crab was okay but nothing to write home about. Considering I just dropped 35 dollars on one meal it was a total waste of money. Should have just gotten Burger King for a quarter of the price. The fries were mush. Man I hate that I wasted this trip.
1st trip 4/5:
Seafood: Catfish is well flavored and perfectly fried. The catfish strips are a little on the smaller side. I’d get the whole fila if you value the meat over the breading. Shrimp tastes clean but not as strongly flavored as the catfish. Blind tiger wins this battle but it’s still good! I can’t speak to the crawfish at this location yet. Another group had a pile of them. They didn’t look disappointed.
Sides: Fries are well flavored with a slight Cajun seasoning. They unfortunately under fry them. A little soft and mushy for my tastes but still good. Corn is tasteless boiled trash. Hush puppies have a little bite on them, kind of cool.
Sweet tea is very nice. They keep it full at the counter.
If you want similar but superior fare you can pack up and head to Orlandeauxs and wait for an hour or go here. This likely will be the next best flavored seafood in the area. Don’t get me wrong it’s good but they charge a bit considering.
I’ll continue to try different things on the menu.
I’m used to having great BBQ sandwiches from Bears. Shanes is closer to me, but I would still make that drive to Shreveport to get a better sandwich.
Silver lining, the customer service is great.
