Hands down some of the best Persian kabobs from Shamshiry in the DMV. Everything we tried was outstanding. The kabideh (kobida) kabobs were perfectly seasoned, juicy, and cooked to perfection full of authentic flavor.
The fresh bread was amazing and paired beautifully with the kabobs and rice. You can truly taste the quality and care that goes into the food. Even the desserts stood out the Persian ice cream was excellent, a perfect way to finish the meal.
Great presentation, generous portions, and consistent quality all around. If you’re looking for authentic Persian food and top-tier kabobs in the DMV area, this place is a must try. Highly recommended.

Hands down the best Persian restaurants in the dmv! Mahmoud our server was so attentive and he presented the food so beautifully. We were a party of four – he put all the meat in one platter and the different varieties of rice in another platter. Food here never disappoints!! We ordered so much food and it only came out to $22 per person. Love this place!

The lamb kebab/lamb sultani here is just incredible, truly delicious. I’ve been coming here for years and I’m pleased to say it’s as good today as it was the first time I went nearly 4 years ago. Seriously the chefs know how to make the lamb perfectly cooked, and once you put a little olive oil in the rice? Amazing. There is decent amount of free parking nearby. The place gets a bit full during the typical dinner hours, but it’s totally still worth it and they do serve the food fairly quickly. It’s my go to restaurant when I have family and friends visit the area

This place was amazing. Went for dinner with some friends. The place was packed, especially due to the holiday season, but we were able to get seated inside fairly quickly.

We were served by Mahmoud. He was amazing! Very attentive and continued to check in throughout the meal despite how busy they were. We ended up ordering the Kubbideh platter, and a Chicken Tandoori platter, as well as saffron ice cream for dessert. Absolutely delicious! The portions are large too, so we were able to share platters. Also, their initial bread/butter/ and spicy green sauce combo was a hit with the group, especially when you’re hungry! They also serve Halal food, so ask them about what’s halal on the menu.

Tasting DMV
5/5 all around, favorite place for kabobs in the dmv area!!

FOOD: we ordered chicken and chelo kabob barg kabobs. Both had huge portions of rice and meat, with the steak and chicken cooked to tender perfection. There was a healthy side of onion with pepper and tomato. The rice comes with a crispy piece on top, without being over salty and oily. Though, if you want more of a butter taste, there is buttter that comes with the bread at the beginning!

We also had the Persian saffron ice cream and it was AMAZING. It actually tasted like saffron, with a huge amount ice cream!!

SERVICE: fantastic! So friendly, really fast, and everyone who came by was super friendly and quick.

ATMOSPHERE: worth the wait, which is why it’s always crowded every time we come (a great thing). Very good for families with large tables, can seat 4-6 and other tables accommodating larger parties. We saw people dressed up, people dressed casual, waiters are all dressed very nicely.

Overall, we love coming here! A gem of a place in the area

Shamshiry has delicious kabobs and huge portions. The koobideh is probably the best in the DMV & the Persian ice cream is incredible! Prices are extremely fair & service is pretty quick. Plus the owner is very friendly and made sure to say hello & check in at every table which definitely goes a long way. I highly recommend!

Food Lover
They serve maditranian or persian food. The food is extremely good and worth visiting. Kota kabobs and chicken tandoori were cooked well but they were still soft

Pro: good delicious food, halal menu, clean restaurant, clean bathroom . Good staff.

Cons: longer wait time on weekends evening. Regular days, its pretty quick.

Conclusion: if you like to eat good halal good, it worth to wait for it

First time checking this place out. Ordered a steak kabob barg to go. Was told it was filet mignon and ended up with this. It was well-done flank steak and some rice. Not worth $25

Chicken kabob was OK though I guess
