The service was excellent as well. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome throughout the visit. The atmosphere was warm and pleasant. I would definitely come back and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Indian cuisine.
It is on the first floor upstairs above the street. Considering this was on the Royal Mile, the prices were fair and, due to the windy weather, it was quieter than normal.
We were welcomed out of the rain and offered a table near a radiator. We were served promptly and didn’t wait too long in between courses. The food was delicious and warm. You could taste the spices in each dish. The naan bread was huge but not doughy.
The manager we spoke to was very friendly and he told us about how his father started the business. We said to him that my brother doesn’t eat this cusine so stayed behind, which he said he could bring his *own food from elsewhere* and sit with us! That is very kind, thoughtful and unusual for anywhere to allow this.
There is Thai food offered but I don’t know much it but what we had was some of the best curries tasted. It does compare well to Midlands standards as B’ham is home of the balti.
I would highly recommend you call here when in Edinburgh.
We enter, and we’re the only ones there! We were sat down and ordered a couple drinks. Prompt and friendly service with a very knowledgeable staff about allergens.
I ordered the lamb Kabob starter and then just plain old chicken Pad Thai.
Let me tell you….. this was the absolute BEST chicken Pad Thai I’ve ever had.
I’m only here 4 days but I’m going back again before we depart Scotland!!
We were visiting for the week to Edinburgh and we ate out every day, this place is my far the best. Portion sizes are perfect, great set course menus and a selection of Thai or Indian. If you’re struggling to think of what you want for dinner but you want to go out, you’d be very well looked after here!
The menu isn’t too big, it’s not daunting and clear to read, and the staff here are friendly, will look after you. They even took mine and my partners pictures when they saw me about to take a selfie!
That’s service that you don’t find often these days.
If I could I could give more than 5, I would.
The food was excellent, full of flavour, clearly freshly prepared, and beautifully presented. Each dish felt thoughtfully made, and the quality really stood out. The staff were great: friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without being overbearing, which really added to the experience.
A great spot for a laid back but high quality meal, and somewhere I’d happily return to, busy or not.
The Tika Masala was in my top 3 of all time going back 30 years. It’s my meal of choice anywhere I go, so I’ve had a few.
Will go out of our way to have again.
So good went back 3 days later for our final meal in Edinburgh. Again, excellent service and an absolutely delicious meal.
Will be back any time we are in town.
The restaurant is lovely and clean and well decorated just sadly it was very quiet. We were the only ones in the restaurant for most of our meal. Was great service though! Very attentive staff who were also very kind to our children.
