Absolutely amazing!!!! The very best kosher restaurant I’ve ever been to! Kosher fine dining at its finest! My husband and I agree it was the best meal we’ve ever had. He had the surprise steak which was phenomenal! I had the short ribs which were perfection! We enjoyed soups, appetizers, sushi, the works. Just when we thought we were full to the brim and could not squeeze one more but in, I couldn’t resist the dessert menu. Somehow we practically managed to lick the plate of peanut butter mousse clean! It was the most wonderful evening! The ambience is wonderful! The service is superior to any other place I’ve been to. I can’t recommend this place enough!

Everything in this place is Kosher which means No dairy since meat is served and No pork or shellfish.
We came for Thanksgiving and they had a prefix menu. The turkey was so good with the sweet mashed potatoes and fresh vegetable vegetables.

I recently tried Shallots Bistro and unfortunately it was a pretty disappointing experience. I went in with high expectations given the reputation, but it just didn’t live up to the hype. The steak was decent, but honestly nowhere near the level of even an average kosher steakhouse in New York, and for the price I expected something much better. The sides were just okay at best and didn’t really add much to the meal.
For what you pay, I expected higher quality, stronger flavors, and more attention to detail. Overall it felt overpriced and overhyped compared to other kosher options in the Chicago area and especially compared to places I’ve tried in New York.
Maybe it was an off night, but based on my experience I don’t see myself going back.

We don’t go out for dinner very often . However, it was my birthday, so this was a special treat. Very nice people. Comfortable and clean. The food was delicious. We had appetizers, meals, and wine. Also, a birthday cake with sparklers and a cool sign.

Had a lovely business lunch at Shallots Bistro today, and just like my last visit—it was an all-around amazing experience .
I ordered the salmon wrap , and it was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Everything I’ve had here has been consistently delicious .
The atmosphere is classy and refined ✨, but still welcoming and comfortable. Our waitress was fantastic—always smiling , super attentive , and just made the whole visit feel relaxed and easy.
What really sets Shallots apart is that the seating is perfect for any kind of visit :

They’ve got plenty of room and even private spaces —a rare and super helpful touch.

One of a kind. You won’t find a place like this anywhere else. All kosher meals. Clean fresh elegant food. Displayed real well. Host and waitress are very friendly and respectful. Very pricey but expected for the quality of food. Generous servings. A lot of parking available and wheelchairs accessable. Interior is designed very fancy and elegant.

First of all the food is horrible but the main issue is that they add automatically the 20% gratuity on the bill and taxed the gratuity as well, and on top of that they expecting another gratuity. When asked why they start screaming at the customers and said that we don’t want to give the waitress a tip to raise their kids. Absolutely mind blowing. It was not only us who told them that but another lady who said that happened to her as well. Do you really think your customers are stupid?

Jen was our server, and she made the visit extra meaningful with her knowledgeable advise, beautiful smile and helpfulness in general.
Without exaggeration, my reserve cut steak was probably one of the best I’ve had at a restaurant in sometime (and I travel and eat often) and it was cooked exactly as I requested.
I can’t wait visit Shallots again on my next visit to Chicago.
