I love Shalimar. The food is incredible and since moving to Louisville I have ordered or dined in almost every single week. I am a big fan of the Chicken curry, chicken korma, and the chicken biriyani. I like the chicken Somoza and vegetable samosa a lot too (dip it in the tamarind sauce!) as an appetizer. Make sure to get some naan, my favorite is the garlic naan.
Mango lassi is the perfect texture and is the right amount of sweet without being too sweet. I’ve had Indian food from may other places in town but this one is hands down my favorite.

Great Indian food! Always attentive servers. I highly recommend. My only complaint is that you actually get more food with carry out. The rice portion is small ( 1/3 to 1/2 of what you would get at take out) and if you ask for additional rice to take home with your leftover portion of entree they charge you additional fee for extra rice. If you take it to go you get a rice container for each entree. With this economy it all adds up.
