This visit was a big disappointment. Cold room, loud music, tri-tip on a paper tray liner. No plates!! Who the heck puts good meat on a piece of paper that covers a metal tray and you end up cutting the paper too? Disgusting. Never going back even though the slaw was very good. I brought our best friends here because my experience in Santa Barbara was completely different. I was also asked to tip at ordering (which I did) and then they gave me three glasses of water to take to our table.

The owner is the greatest guy; approachable, gregarious, and inviting. Their food is top of the line! Great place to watch any game with plenty of TV’s. Service is always on-point. We miss Woody’s, but love how they opened up the space.

What happened to shalhoobs? This is supposed to be the topping for my nachos, mind you it’s 17.40 just the cheese tortillas chips and boiled unseasoned “ cowboy beans”. I added tri tip for an extra $7.20 bringing the total to 27 after tax. I did not know that the extra tri tip is mixed with more beans… honestly how many peaces of meat can you see on this photo?? Very disappointing what’s becoming of shalhoobs.

The corn was DELICIOUS and so was the pulled pork sandwich. Sandwich alone was ~$16 without any sides. So a bit on the pricey side, but the vibes were nice and I love how the restaurant has a lot of open air. Nice place to watch football and have a beer on a Sunday afternoon.

One of the best Tri-Tip sandwiches, I’ve ever had. The meat is very tender and the bread is fresh. Nachos are good too. The atmosphere at this location is fun. They have a good size space with roll up doors which makes it nice and airy. Plenty of parking at Magnolia center. Great service by the staff although one time it took forever to get our food.

This location had a pretty rough launch and if you had asked me to write a review a year ago I would have given it a 1 or 2 out of 5 stars, especially compared to the FunkZone location.
However, this place is finally figuring it out in late 2025 thanks to a series of improvements to the menu, happy hour/specials, and service.

We tried to give Shalhoob”s Goleta a second try.
I am so sorry we did the food is as bad as when they first opened. My wife had the Avocado salad that was really just broccoli with a few bites of Avocado, soaked in vinaigrette and a soggy mess. I had the St Louis ribs however they were more like a byproduct pork chops small in size and very dry. We really like to support our local restaurants. However we are taking this one off the list.

Terrible experience. The staff completely forgot to ring in one of our food items, and when I asked about it they brushed me off and said they were “checking on it.” We sat there another 20 minutes being ignored before I had to go back up myself and ask again, only to be told they never put it in at all. No effort to make it right, nothing. Just careless and dismissive service. Won’t be coming back.

Here I am on opening day, sitting at the patio of Shalhoob’s Magnolia location. Currently eating top notch tri tip with mac & cheese and street corn. Life is good. Thanks Shalhoobs :’)

This place offers a very warm and pleasant atmosphere, with excellent food and truly outstanding margaritas. The street corn was a bit too heavy on the lime for my taste, but still very good overall.
