General confusion with the other entree we ordered as well. Good drinks and appetizers, wish the entrees matched the expectations.
But we have discovered Shatki’s checks all our boxes for my wife and I every time so far. Soft music so people can talk in hushed library voices that does not diminish our romantic date nights. Food has been reliable. Wait service is welcoming, attentive, and delivered with professional elegance. Reservations are reliable.
While the cocktails weren’t exactly my favorite, the real star of the show were the entrées – they were absolutely phenomenal! ️ From the first bite, my taste buds were in dancing in delight. Shakti’s definitely knows how to create a memorable dining experience! Cheers to My amazing fiance! ❤️ good food & unforgettable nights like these! ❤️
It didnt start out great, and this is me being picky, but when I entered I was greeted with “we only do reservations” and not “do you have a reservation”. As if the assumption was I wasn’t meant to be there or didnt think to plan ahead.
I let them know I had a reservation, we were 10 mins early, and it was a very empty Thursday night. Just us and another table; one server. Such a beautiful place. Loved the feeling the whole time.
Appetizers were great. We got the artichoke dip and some drinks to start. Loved the drinks as well.
We both ordered our entrees, from our very friendly waitress, as well as the salad to start. The ceasar was original, very nice and included capers, my favorite.
Then came the entrees. For pushing 50 dollars I expected a wow factor, but this is where it went downhill. Salmon was bland for my partner and the asparagus unseasoned. My spicy brown sugar rigatoni with blackened prawns was sweeter than our desert. I couldn’t finish it. The amount of brown sugar put in ended any “spicy” that could have come from it. I would have loved to have sent it back, but no one ever came. We would have complained about these issues to possibly get replaced, but in our 2 hours of being there, the waitress was just there to drop off our food. No other visits. “How’s everything doing.” Again the place is empty. My water cup was empty for 45mins. Yes this is the most nitpicky thing you’ve read. To me it was funny to start a timer when we started joking “when was the last time she was here?”. We were there at the latest reservation, so I imagine she was helping close up shop. Understandable. Once to ask our drink and appetizer order, second time to ask our main order, third to drop off entrees, and then an hour later to clean up and ask if we want desert. The table next to us were there waiting our entire time eating for their desert.
The desert. Crème Brulée! Yum. We usually love it elsewhere!… it was burnt to a crisp. Like eating chared crumbs at the bottle of the oven. We both had one big bite thinking the black was nothing. Nasty. We told the waitress and she apologized and took it off our bill. This is about 20mins later. I would have loved to atleast have the opportunity to get a replacement, but it was time to pay and leave at that point.
Anyways. Ill probably try it again to see if other dishes are any better than the two we tried. Salad was the best I`ve had though! Thanks!
Oh I forgot, little edit: it was my partners birthday. I wrote this in the reservation, but Im guessing the app OpenTable doesnt relay that information? Or Shaktis doesn’t read the notes or requests? Birthday was still fun. Just had a low point for dinner is all.
Service was paced perfectly, despite a pretty full patio of happy diners. The outdoor experience feels like you’re tucked in a private little park – quite lush and beautiful.
Shakti Lanphere’s flavors are uniquely hers with an elevated Italian vibe. I’ve yet to find anything bland on the menu – dishes are infused with flavorful herbs and delicious touches.
