I was the second customer at opening for bunch o lunch now crap o lunch . I asked for a breast and a wing and this location is one that still plays games and makes you wait 25 minutes to be cooked. Other locations have some in a warmer for customer request especially at opening. The pizza was dried out at opening the only decent one was the pan pizza. I dine a lone and leave a 25% tip but not when management plays games like this. I wasn’t surprised not to see it very busy like other locations I go too.

Shakeys Pizza Parlor in Escondido is a fun place to grab a casual meal. The pizza was hot fresh and satisfying and the classic Shakeys flavor always hits the spot. The atmosphere is lively and family friendly which makes it great for groups and kids. The staff were friendly and helpful which kept things running smoothly. The only reason for four stars is that service can slow down when it gets busy. Overall a solid spot for good pizza and a good time and I will definitely come back.

The food here is so good!
We ordered a small pepperoni pizza with a side of their wings and their famous mojo potatoes. The pizza was hand tossed and it was pretty thick, but had good flavor. The potatoes were nice and crispy while still being soft inside and the wings were actually really good, small, but they had a lot of flavor and it was good quality chicken we got a side of cheese with the potatoes and a side of ranch and Buffalo sauce with the wings.
If Ranch is something you care a lot about, their ranch here was very good, perfect flavor and thickness

I was so excited to have been able to eat at Shakey’s. I missed this restaurant from the Philippines. We had the all-you-can-eat bunch of lunch. Their chicken and mojo potatoes were the best! Still as delicious as I remembered. The pizza was okay, it was a bit dry though. Spaghetti tasted the same as I remembered. Staff were friendly, restaurant was clean and food was replenished immediately.

We were really looking forward to visiting Shakey’s while in California, as we used to have them in our home state but they’ve all closed. We were not disappointed, it was just as delicious as we remembered it to be! We enjoyed the lunch buffet, and were happy with the quality and taste of the food, as well as the cleanliness of the restaurant. Just wish we could have brought it all home with us.

Shakey’s Pizza Parlor is fantastic! If you’re craving a true old-school pizza experience, this place delivers in every way. The pizza tastes like classic pizza-parlor pizza comfort food at its finest, and the fried chicken is crispy, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. It reminds me of KFC style chicken but without that heavy salty aftertaste, which makes it even better.
They also have a full salad bar with lots of fresh toppings and a huge variety of dressings. It’s a great addition whether you want to build a big salad or just grab a plate to go with your pizza and chicken.
Another thing I love is that they serve beer, hard seltzers, and even cocktails. Whether you’re coming with family or meeting friends, it fits the vibe perfectly.
And yes…. they have a lunch buffet! We all miss the old Pizza Hut buffet and Shakey’s has kept that dream alive. Fresh pizza coming out, crispy chicken, salad bar, and all the classics. It’s nostalgic and delicious.
Do not leave without trying the mojos. These thick-cut seasoned potatoes are absolutely to die for. Dip them in ranch or go all in with their warm cheese sauce….. either way, you’re going to thank yourself. And just when you think you’re finished, they even offer dessert to top it all off.

I will admit I haven’t been to a Shakey’s in a hot minute. I was again surprised to see there’s only one in the entire San Diego area as there are a bunch all over the LA and Orange County areas. I always love a salad bar so it prompted me to make the drive here.
They have a pretty big menu but I decided to go with the lunch buffet to try a bit of everything. It’s a casual atmosphere and you seat yourself, tons of seating so you’re not fighting for a spot anywhere. It’s open and they have music playing that’s not too loud. Really good spot for large groups.
The buffet options were great, they had several pizzas to choose from as well as garlic bread. The salad bar had so many options to make an amazing salad and everything was well-stocked and fresh. The bar was clean too because you know sometimes people just kind of make a mess especially when there are dressings involved. What actually really stood out to me was the chicken, I think it was grilled and not fried. It was so good! I’m still thinking about it. The mashed potatoes and mojos were really good too, so I guess the carbs won me over this time.
Overall a really good deal for what you get, just wish there was one closer!

Not gonna lie and say it was my favorite joint, but it was good. Their service was great. Their prices are a little high, but not too bad. We ordered a 9 inch pizza, pepperoni mushroom, some mojo potatoes, and some chicken bites . Pizza had good flavor. Mojo’s were not too greasy, and chicken bites were not over-battered. They’ve got games for kids to play. Buffet during lunch (11am-2pm), and happy hour from 3pm-6pm. We were there before 6, but did not make it to the register until 6:07 so we didn’t get the happy hour special, even though we asked and the manager said that he did see us in line but it was past the time. Nice to try it. Don’t know when we’ll be back
