There used to be one of these in Texas when I was a child. So I wanted to visit while in California for nostalgic purposes , and I was not disappointed. If you have the time, you must stay and do the buffet , but they also have a takeout menu. Plenty of games and things to keep your children occupied.

It was crowded and there was not enough chicken. The buffet line was so long when it finally got clear all the chicken was gone. The manger should have put more food out so the the line wouldn’t be so long waiting for food.

Great location! and great parking. The food hasn’t lost it’s original taste. A big shout out to Arturo Mendez, Christian and another great lady that was super nice but I cant remember her name (I think it is Sandra) We were celebrating a special family occasion 1/17/2026 – Saturday around 3:00pm in the patio area and staff was SUPER nice. Also, a very funny lady serving the beer (she wears glasses) she was super cute and kind. Love Love LOVE the staff and the food was on point. Definitely going back. Thank you again for helping celebrate our special occasion and adding a special touch to the celebration. Thank you everyone and see you soon.

Such a fun family place! Their pizza is extra cheesy with delicious stretchy cheese. We came in from a coupon from school where my kid received a free Individual pizza (7”) and the staff were friendly.
When your food is ready, a bell is rung so pay attention to the bell to go pick up your food at the ordering counter.
Their salad bar is great, I got their unlimited salad bar for under $10, and filled up with 2 plates worth of fresh veggies.
The vibe inside is inviting with big open seating area and booths. There’s even an arcade area where you can load a card up to play for tickets and redeem tickets for prizes.
Highly recommend for a birthday gathering or a nice time out with the family. We have a 3 year old and it was a great place for him to enjoy.
Plenty of parking in their parking lot!

We were excited to see Shakey’s reopen in our area and decided to stop in recently. Overall, the experience had a lot of potential — especially thanks to Wendy behind the bar.
Wendy was fantastic: friendly, attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely welcoming. She made us feel taken care of from the moment we sat down, and her service alone is the kind that makes you want to become a regular. Management should know she’s a real asset.
That said, I was very surprised and disappointed to learn that tipping wasn’t an option on our tab. I always want to tip for great service — especially when someone like Wendy goes above and beyond — and not having that ability is a real deterrent. I’d love for this location to become part of our regular rotation, but until tipping is available on tabs, it’s unfortunately not a place I’m likely to frequent.
One other small note: the lights above the bar are extremely bright and could be softened a bit to make the space more comfortable.
All in all, there’s a lot to like here, and with a few adjustments — especially allowing tips — this could be a great neighborhood spot. And once again, Wendy is wonderful.

love this place took us back too the good all days! love the decor! Our server Teresa delivered our food fast. and was very attentive. always checking on us making sure we had everything we need it. even dipping us she brought us a few to try. very good service! happy with our visit !

Love the remodeled Shakey’s here on Sepulveda! I came in for the lunch special and was accidentally charged for 3 adults instead of 1 adult and 2 kids. I didn’t notice until after we finished eating, but when I mentioned it to the employee, she immediately called the manager. I’m not sure if the managers name was Melinda or if that was the employee, but they helped me so kindly and without hesitation.
I really appreciated how smoothly and professionally they handled it. The atmosphere was great, and the manager — a woman with glasses who was helping me around 1:20 PM — was very helpful. Great customer service overall!

THE SERVICE IS AMAZING! The CASHIER WAS VERY KIND asked what I needed & was very understanding, in the questions I asked. I don’t really remember her name but I remember she had lots of rings which I thought were pretty cool!
Overall Shakey’s always been a place where my family & I dine. It’s amazing to see a new generation giving us the comfort & hospitality to dine in with family.! Overall will definitely recommend! Thank you shakeys ! We’ll definitely be coming back !
Also recommend getting the chicken & potatoes wedges !!! 10/10 !!! & there’s a small arcade area for kids !!

I came for the mojos, but what I got were just ok, sliced potatoes. They needed more seasoning and, most importantly, the seasoned batter was severely lacking. ATTENTION Shakey’s manager: re-train your staff on how to properly make mojos. Please and thank you.
