5 stars awarded for one reason: they were open when we got down from the observation deck on 9/11/2025. Every other place was closed, and we were super hungry. Other than that – I’m completely mystified as to what the Shake Shack buzz is about. I will say that they put a healthy (irony!) amount of bacon on my bacon cheeseburger. So, full credit for that, but there are other chains that make a much better bacon cheeseburger – Whataburger and 5 Guys, by a mile.

Haven’t had Shake Shack since someone gave me an underwhelming Chicken Shack. I was over at Union Station and I thought about another chicken chain until I read the reviews for that particular location. Then I saw Shake Shack over at Willis Tower was open. Why not get a BIG burger from a BIG tower? That’s exactly what I ordered, The Big Shack. It was delicious, absolutely delicious. Next time I’d request they pull the middle bun or I’d just order a double of something else. Maybe I’ll let them try to redeem that poor example of a Chicken Shack I received previously? So go on and get a BIG burger from a BIG tower and stuff yourself.

Shake Shack in Chicago is a fantastic spot if you’re looking for a clean, welcoming, and satisfying dining experience. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere stands out—it’s bright, tidy, and well-maintained, which really sets the tone for enjoying a meal. Many fast-casual places can feel cluttered or rushed, but Shake Shack here manages to keep everything neat while still being busy and full of energy. The attention to cleanliness is clear in both the dining area and the kitchen, which makes it easy to relax and enjoy your food without distraction.

The food itself is consistently delicious. The burgers are juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, paired with soft, freshly toasted buns that make every bite memorable. The crinkle-cut fries are crisp and golden, while their shakes and frozen custards are rich and indulgent—perfect for rounding out the meal. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or sitting down with friends, the menu offers a comforting balance of classic favorites and elevated fast-casual options that really live up to Shake Shack’s reputation.

Service at this location is another highlight. The staff are extremely friendly, attentive, and approachable, going out of their way to make sure you feel welcome. Orders come out quickly and accurately, even during peak hours, and the team is always ready with a smile or a helpful suggestion. That level of service elevates the entire experience and makes it clear that customer care is a top priority.

Another small but important detail is the availability of public restrooms. They’re not only accessible but also as clean and well-maintained as the dining space, which isn’t always the case in downtown restaurants. Overall, this Shake Shack delivers on every front—great food, friendly service, spotless surroundings, and thoughtful amenities.

These burgers are an absolute treat. The patties are perfectly cooked, full of rich flavor, and incredibly satisfying. The fresh toasted buns are soft and complement the meat so well, creating a delicious bite from start to finish. A must try for any burger lover.

We stopped in on a Saturday evening after visiting the Willis Tower Skydeck to grab a quick bite. I ordered the SmokeShack burger and my boyfriend got the Big Shack burger, plus we shared the Parmesan Garlic Fries.

The place was pretty empty and clean — overall just a simple fast-food kind of vibe, nothing particularly special about the atmosphere. We did have a little trouble ordering at the kiosk since it kept giving an error when we tried to check out, and no one was at the register. A worker eventually helped and had someone take our order manually, which was appreciated.

The fries were a disappointment — dry, not much flavor, and mostly covered in powdered Parmesan. The garlic dipping sauce on the side was okay but didn’t really save it. The burgers were decent but a bit dry and lacking that juicy flavor you’d expect from Shake Shack.

Overall, an average experience. Probably wouldn’t go out of my way to come back to this location.

Well I decided to go to the Willis Tower to see and try this shake shack burger,. It is a franchise I see a lot and kind of made it into a bucket list of curiosity. It was just a meh ok. I say this because I compare this to the taste of a Culver’s butterburger it almost tastes the same and even the size is the same. To me it was a copy check of a Culver’s Burger franchise the burgers taste just like that and it’s not bad but at the same time I could have just gone to Culver’s. Another thing I did not like was the service because if you go to a live person they only accept cash and the kiosk I have a blood donation card and it’s not a tap or a chip you have to swipe like the old school credit cards and they don’t offer that and if you go to the service person he only accepts cash.ambience as usual is pretty hip or especially since it’s at the Willis Tower so it’s very touristy it’s just a bit overpriced for my taste it’s not a bad Burger but it’s not some place I would go because the taste of their shake shack Burger is almost exactly the same as a culver’s burger and it’s less expensive buying a Culver’s Burger. I spent almost $25 and to me the Burger to how much I paid for is something I can get more elsewhere especially from Culver’s and even Culver’s I don’t like going there because I don’t feel unsatisfied in regards to quality and quantity. Thus the three stars

First time having a shake shack burger. I would say it is a quality burger and shake though I do think they are a bit overpriced. At this location there are kiosk only ordering stations which I dont think is a bad thing. Food came out within 5-10 minutes of being ordered. Not a bad first experience here!

I recently visited Shake Shack, and while the place was really nice and the staff was friendly, I wasn’t very impressed with the Nuggets. They didn’t taste as good as I expected. However, the atmosphere was great, and the service was excellent, which made the experience enjoyable overall.

Never been to a shake shack and service be so rude and food served cold. We are here visiting from out of town and I’m appalled. The young girl with the red braids needs to be retrained on customer service and learn to not be so dismissive to customers. If you don’t like your job then find some other place where customer interaction is limited and not having to deal with pressure. If it was not for the other young lady with the blond hair who was so nice to help me with my drink order that was wrong and instead of telling we don’t have anymore of the drink you ordered and walk away she offered solutions.

This was my first time at a Shake Shack, I was surprised right away when ordering from the remote kiosk. The robot already includes a 10% tip when you finish your order. That’s right the robot is asking for a tip, I mean COME ON NOW. What has happened to dining out, that robots are asking for tips before the food is even made. Needless to say, they are already out to a terrible start. However the food, which cost an exorbitant amount for just a burger and shake, tasted like a lesser Five Guys. It was okay but nothing special. This small burger and shake cost me about $20. Not worth it at all.
