Hard wood and metal chairs plus noisy decor and loudish music in the background. Not a good place to have a conversation. The food is good… burgers, chicken pieces, fries and onion rings are all good. You then have to clean up after yourself.

My experience at Shake Shack was less than impressive myself and my husband visited on 11/29/25 I was not familiar but he had heard great things, we were greeted by a nice young man after working kiosk 4 minutes with no training , we worked the kiosk this is their set up it’s a self care, self pay, self service, no napkins or condiments were in the lobby.
There was no option for water and to get a drink was 3.99 for a large coke with no apparent option for refills
The burgers range from like 7-13.00 and they have no combination option option à la carte only we didn’t order a shake I was surprised that there was such a limited amount of flavors, the custard showed zero for price I asked one of the other guys in the back he simply said he didn’t know why and although I didn’t ask for very much I felt as if I may have been bothering him.
Food- Burger was great I got smokehouse husband got the regular double shack burger was really good, fries were very basic nothing fancy (no season, brown, semi cold) not worth 6.00, also the burger had really great cherry peppers meat was seasoned well and cheese was really tasty burger was worth 10.00 but the place was just expensive and lacked basic needs, the guy dropped off food did not bring any ketchup or anything and didn’t offer anything and after serving yourself in every possible way they had the audacity to add tip option because they deserved it smh also tables were either wet with random liquid or dirty, so many changes need to be made if they plan to stay in business….
That is my honest review

The food is good! Burgers are good. Fries are really good. The shakes are tasty and different from what you would expect. The decor is nice but frankly sterile. It’s a different kind of fast food experience.
The staff are friendly and eager to help you. This is amazing and I hope it is a hallmark of their service style that continues. It’s refreshing to see staff who want to help you.
I don’t like the kiosk ordering. I know it is the future of restaurant ordering but I prefer to do this if I am ordering for takeout. If eating In, I like to talk with someone and have my.order taken.
Service is great nonetheless.

Got a to go order. When I got home. All three hamburgers were wrong. Shack burger did not have the sauce lettuce and tomato on it. The other 2 did not have the bacon on them. that I paid extra for. 2 order of the season fries had soooo much seasoning (spicy) on them you could not eat. The cheese fries had the bare minimum cheese on them. Tried calling left 3 messages no return call. Mind you this was my first time trying Shake Shack. Cost me over $60! For 3 burgers and 3 fries and pickles. Pickles were good. Seems awfully high for a complete mess of an order and can’t talk to the manager. Do better Shake Shack.

Just checked out the new Shake Shack that opened in the Sunset Hills Shopping Center, and it was a great lunch spot. My boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick date and were honestly impressed. The space is bright and modern with plenty of seating, and there’s a laid-back vibe that makes it easy to relax. They even have a cornhole game set up outside on the patio, which gives it a fun, casual feel.
I went with the SmokeShack burger—bacon, cherry peppers, and that signature ShackSauce. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The crinkle-cut fries were perfectly crispy, and the banana pudding shake was the standout for me—creamy, well-balanced, and not overly sweet.
Nice addition to the area. We’ll definitely be back.

I have been to several Shake Shacks around the country, so I was anxious to try one so near my home. The service was outstanding. Friendly, efficient and professional. The counter person was pleasant and the food runner thanked me and told me where condiments were located. My issues with the food are all temperature related. The fries had a nice clean taste, well seasoned as well. However the ones on top were piping hot and the next layers were cold. I had obviously gotten the last of one batch and the first of another. The burger – single avocado bacon burger – patty was luke warm. The cheese was melted so I wonder if it had been holding for a while? The bacon was not crispy, but the lettuce, tomato and avocado was fresh. I will say being served on a cold bun emphasized the temperature and texture issues. The burger sauce is tasty. The size is rather small for the price – but it was plenty. The star of the show was the Black and White shake. Simply outstanding with a great flavor and drinkable but not melty consistency. Almost completely redeemed the food.
The store is very clean and modern. Staff was abundant and busy keeping things tidy. I came in at 1:30 in a Wednesday, I will try back at a busier time and see if the food is hotter and more consistent. Overall slightly disappointing but not totally.

Went into the store and ordered on the kiosk as a take out, ordered a chicken sandwich and an avocado bacon burger and got two burgers.. one which was a double and another that just had cheese and onion.. we also order garlic parm fries which is supposed to come with garlic aioli which was also not in the bag. The burgers were tasteless on top of being wrong. We then called shake shack to ask about getting a refund.. (we accidentally called the wrong store) and the manager was more than accommodating at De Peres to find our order and contact corporate who would issue a refund.. this man then called us back to inform us we accidentally called the wrong location and so when we called the correct location.. sunset hills, the person who answered the phone who sounded annoyed already tried to say he would not refund us unless we drove all the way back to sunset hills (we live in ballwin) to issue the refund. Not sure how one store was more than capable of issuing the refund (had we ordered there) but this guy wouldn’t help at all without use driving all the way back. Also would like to note we waited almost 30-40 minutes for us to get our completely incorrect order while one of the employees decided to seat down and eat his own food while we waited to get ours! even though there was no one else inside waiting for orders.. terrible experience. Terrible costumer service! Terrible food. If one location would’ve been able to look up the order and issue the refund so should that one.. I work in a restaurant and we can do it if we need to.

Tried shake shack yesterday and wasn’t very impressed. The burger was tasty, but way too expensive for what you get. I was shocked that the menu is a la carte…very unusual for a burger joint. 2 fries, 2 single cheeseburgers, and 2 shakes came out to $50.05 which is wayyy too much for food similar in quality/quantity to Culver’s and Freddy’s. The staff was friendly, but we had to wait for a team member to come up to the counter to order and our food took about 15 minutes to come out. I’m glad we tried it, but I don’t think we’ll be back, price just isn’t worth it.

My wife and I both require gluten-free dining and we have been a long time searching for a good burger place. We both like to cook so eating out is an occasional thing for us. It also means we are pretty discriminating when it comes to food quality. Our experience has typically been disappointing gluten-free buns that are smaller than the regular buns and are often not very sturdy. We were delighted when we gave this place a try and found that their gluten-free bun is the same size as the regular bun and very sturdy. Also had a good flavor. The fries and shake we ordered with our burgers were very good. The service was terrific and we felt very comfortable there. The dining area was clean and everything was in good working order. I’m kind of surprised at some of the fussy reviews I’ve read. High praise for the majority of their experience and then 3 stars. I don’t think that’s right. And complaining about price is a non-starter nowadays. All places are expensive so I don’t think a place should be downrated for price unless it is truly exorbitant (I’m looking at you Five Guys). We have a roast beef place we like, a pizza place, and this is now our burger stop. Thank you Shake Shack!
TL;DR Excellent gluten-free buns, great service, clean well maintained facilities. Our new favorite burger place. Also, complaining about prices is silly. They are no more overpriced than any other fast food place and better than many.
