Hip, counter-serve chain for gourmet takes on fast-food classics like burgers & frozen custard.

It’s been almost 5 years since I’ve been to Shake Shack, so we decided to stop by and try it out again. The inside was pretty standard and neat, but there are multiple touch screen kiosks where you can place your order which I found really convenient. Service was also okay, but just standard.
For our meal, we got their Big Shack Burger ($11.99), Parmesan Garlic Fries ($4.99), & Large Pomegranate Sweet Basil Lemonade ($4.99). Everything was delicious! You could tell the burger was made fresh compare to McDonalds or Burger King. The Parmesan covered fries dipped in their garlic sauce added some rich flavor to the fries. The pomegranate lemonade was not overly sweet and had a sour pomegranate taste to it which I really liked. Even though our meal tasted great, the sizing of the food was really small. In contrast to the drinks, the burgers and fries came in one size. We felt like it should’ve been bigger for the pricing of everything. Overall, a bit overpriced but still a pretty good burger chain in the Metairie area.

This Shake Shack was so excellent that we returned the following day for lunch as well! I had the Korean Chicken which rivaled any similar dish served at a swanky full service restaurant! My husband had a burger combo and loved his meal. We topped our lunches off with strawberry milkshakes which were made with real strawberries and were divine! Our service was excellent and the staff was truly kind!

Always love shake shack, this was the first time at this location. The food was really good, but different than any other shake shack I’ve been to. The burgers seemed thicker and the flavor was different. Not bad, but different. The service though was the absolute best I’ve seen and any shake shack I’ve been to and I’ve been to 5 other locations. I will return but as a suggestion, smash the burgers more and cook them longer, these were slightly undercooked. Smash em!

My first and last time coming here. Ordered my food, couldn’t add crispy onions to my burger on their order pad so I ordered at the counter. No smile or greeting. Cashier dude just looked annoyed. Placed my order, received my order and drove home. OF COURSE they can’t get it right. No bacon on the bacon cheese fries and the crispy onions on the burgers look like they were picked out of the fryer that had been floating around in there getting saturated in the grease and getting burnt.
UPDATE:: 3-19-25
I decided to give them another try. This time I was able to customize my burger as needed via kiosk. Our order was accurate and received in a timely manner. The food was great as well as the service. The establishment was clean. I tried the brownie batter hot cocoa shake…phenomenal. I have no complaints this visit. Even the crispy fries were a nice light golden brown as should be. I am highly impressed with management and the way they handled the issues I had with my previous order. They even edited the kiosk for more customization, I do believe I will be returning. Thank you

We came for lunch two Saturdays before Christmas after doing some book shopping, and left full and happy. It was our first time going to Shake Shack in person and we experienced very good service. I think it was the franchise manager maybe, who came to our table to bring our food and he was really nice.
The food was super fresh and cooked well. We ordered a bacon cheeseburger with garlic fries, chicken nuggets/bites and regular fries, a sugar cookie milkshake and a chocolate peppermint bark milkshake for those holiday flavors, and everything was delicious. The restaurant was clean and because it was a few min after they opened, it wasn’t too busy which was nice.

So during my first visit here all of their computerized ordering system was broken so everybody had to wait in a long line to order. I almost walked out and left as is NOLA tradition as we have way too many great spots to eat to ever waste time standing in line like a tourist. Fortunately… or so I thought the line moved really fast so I was able to get my order done in a reasonable time. Well after putting my order in I ended up having to wait for my food for over 40 minutes which for a “fast food” style joint that is quite far from really reasonable. When I finally got my food it was cold and just overall a VERY underwhelming experience. I’m left with the conclusion of why would I ever want to eat here again as Five Guys blows this place out of the water if I need a fast food style burger. I really prefer the local burgers in NOLA and Jefferson Parish which on average are FAR superior to Five Guys and all the other fast food burgers and I would prefer dining in one of the local spots 99% of the time over any chain. The interior tables and floors were dirty and had food and drink spilled all over the place. So I gave it a good effort just so I could fairly evaluate it and my conclusion is “OH HELL NO!!!” So you can summarize that as I really have no future intentions of ever eating here again. I might take an offer of free food but even that likely would not entice me to ever return here.

I ordered on the kiosk machine, the burger was good until I noticed it was still pink. Maybe I should have stated a burger. Well done, no pink . I didn’t want to make a complaint since I had already started eating. I just threw the rest away.

This is a self service restaurant. You go to a screen , stand, and place your order by clicking on pictures and menu options. You pay and get a table number holder. Once food is ready, they call your table number or if it’s less busy , they bring you food tray to the table. No cutlery, you eat with hands . Food is good and reasonable priced. It’s basically a walk-to/go-to kind of place.

I love the food and different options!!! The shakes are so delicious… and the gentleman that took/prepared my order on my last visit provided excellent customer service, he even recommended a particular shake in which I should try. (Christmas cookie) I wish I could’ve remembered his name…

Got a lettuce wrap to try and cut calories. I usually get a regular bun and never thought it was overly greasy. Well with the lettuce wrap this thing was dripping in grease! Nasty and won’t be returning after this.
