I have been to countless locations over the years and would say this MDR one is one of my very favorites. The staff is especially very friendly and even when there is a line the order never takes very long. One of my favorite things about this chain is how often they change up their seasonal items so I was excited to stop in yesterday to try some of their limited run items. It’s located in a shopping mall so there is plenty of free parking all around. It’s also in a less busy part of Los Angeles so it’s never quite as crowded as some of the more central locations. Inside is very large, there are plenty of tables to dine in, but I always choose to grab to go. I also love how there are many kiosks as you enter so you can pretty much place your order as soon as you arrive.

The seasonal items I tried were the French Onion Soup Burger, which I thought was fantastic. I am an onion and Gruyère fan so seeing that combo was an no-brainer. I also tried the Banana Pudding Shake, which I have had before, and loved. It had vanilla wafer crumbles on top and just was honestly delicious. I also tried the Parmesan Garlic Fries to mix it up and thought they were great as well. I would suggest ordering a side of cheese and mixing that for another great combo. I would recommend and will be back again many times in the future.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review for Shake Shack (Marina Waterway)

I had such a great experience at this Shake Shack thanks to Jess! From the moment we arrived, he greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel immediately welcome. He even cleaned our table promptly so we could sit comfortably, and throughout our meal he checked in to make sure we had everything we needed.

Jess went above and beyond—offering to refill our drinks, making sure we were satisfied, and treating us with genuine kindness the entire time. It’s rare to find someone so customer-oriented and attentive. His service truly made our visit exceptional.

Thank you, Jess, for making our experience wonderful! We’ll definitely be coming back. ✨

During those chicken sandwich wars how was Shake Shack not in the conversation? The chicken sandwich here is really good. It’s not all just breading with a good size chicken in the sandwich. Their new Korean style fried chicken was great and should be a must try during its promotional run. This place may be more known for its burgers as it should but their chicken sandwiches are on the same level.

I have been here a few times. we had really good meal and great time. If I wanna compare to in n out, very closely I put In n Out above Shake Shack but to be honest this is really good too. This branch had nice atmosphere inside. I like their self ordering system on the tablet

Had what was one of the best burgers ever. Got the Shack Stack… WOW! Fries were perfect and crisp but not over done. Had a strawberry milk shake and it did NOT disappoint! Very satisfied with everything we ordered for the value of a higher priced burger joint.

Shake Shack is an excellent Burger and chicken sandwich spot with this spot being a great example of the chain.

I just ordered a smoke shack double in. Lettuce wrap with chicken bites. Also ordered a side of nacho cheese, mayo and honey mustard. Overall lunch was good, the setup seems to be more kiosk style because it’s presented at the front. Not a fan of this setup but it’s somewhat efficient and you can’t really rate customer service.

I’d definitely come back again and try their other menu items.

Its down by the marina and its no different than a spin off of in and out. Slight difference Shak3 Shack can sell beer..
I ate at this marina del Rey location. I would expect high standards in service quality and I think you get the point. Anyways, I had a hard time getting to the place just because of the freaking parking lot and entitled drivers as well as people. Im sorry the area may be a nicer choice of living, but you don’t get entitlement rights!! Please come down off the cloud and see the world in the perfect lens of reality! Need not dive deeper but in hopes you understand the underlying effect before entering the establishment. I finally walked into this place after the charades I played in the parking lot, I looked up and around trying to grasp the setting and I was not to enthusiastic about the building the company the atmosphere tone. It was a basic blahhh feeling that overcame me and my smile went from lively to dull. I said to myself, “ahhh chop it up for a loss and regroup!!” I did that and was kind of catching a freestyle but dress to impress want to throw it in others face vibe. That was the second time which sucks because the shake shack in Santa Monica kicks ass with a chill vibe and friendly workers and manager too. This location is very different and maybe there is a a work atmosphere that mimics the attitude of snootyness, entitled, and judgmental, because this vibe is exactly how it was….
The reality of it all- this establishment is like a crossover with cars. Cars are wanting to be suv’s. Think about it (my goal is not to offend shake shack at all i really like the products), if businesses mold and shape societal views and people’s perspectives i guess its doing it with this particular shake shack.
Back to the experience as to why I am providinng the stars and babbling review. ..
This location in marina del Rey did not have one clean table to sit at and there were a few table with people. Cleanliness is key, and if there are dirty tables imagine what the restroom looks like…. there were a lot of employees too but i guess the importance was focused on talking and gossiping because it wasnt too busy and there wasnt a drive thru. One can assume some employees were to caught up in their own personal conversations to notice the dining area. After all you have to use the dining area to get to the bathroom, so this is definitely a hygienic and sanitary issue if people broke this down, but does anyone actually care to think about these issues or wait for the next person to say what you were already thinking.
Next— the food—–
Food is good although it was too oily t his last time and I swear everything shrunk in size because the hamburgers are now half the size of what they used to be but almost 2xs the amount.

I think it is fair to state I did not have a good experience and I want to keep it like that because the shake shack really is a cool neat little corporate hamburger stand. The first of its kind/just kidding…
Overall the experience i expected based on previous experience with surrounding shake shacks was a great positive experience; however; this one left a sour taste in my mouth to which I will not order from here again. It was way to much work just getting to this place and then to walk in to an unsanitary establishment after seeing every table was dirty or maybe a toddler cleaned the tables. There are child labor laws in violation if toddlers are bussing tables .

Very very good burger. Excels on the type of burgers it proposes to make. Their fries though, are very greasy.. You season them yourself, and although they are crunchy I am not a fan of this wavy (?) format. It’s stated that the house beer is made by Brooklyn Brewery (which I know is a good quality brewery) but I found it to be average at best. If everything was as good as the burger I would give the place five stars. But it isn’t. Never tried the shake this franchise has their name for. Too much weight on my conscience for that! Service here was fast and of top quality. All in all a very good option for burgers.

Shake Shack remains my favorite fast food chain because of their exceptional burgers. The restaurant was clean and well-maintained. The only downside is that the prices are a bit steep for fast food, but the quality more than makes up for it.
