I love Shake Shack with a passion, it’s truly one of the best “fast” food restaurants you can get for the price! Much cheaper and much lower calories than Five Guys or Smashburger. Everything tastes very high quality. I love how you can order on the screen and then get your food brought to you within minutes. They even have some of the best filtered water for free (by the ketchup dispensers).

I rarely enjoy lunch during the work week, and today I decided to treat myself to one of the newer establishments near my office. The entryway and parking is pretty spacious, after entering and reviewing the menu, I was greeted and helped by a manager on duty with suggestions on what was good. I ordered the classic double cheeseburger, a single mound city burger, truffle fries, and a chocolate shake. The dining room was modern looking and spacious, with a lot of natural lighting. The staff brought my food to my table swiftly after ordering. The double cheeseburger was nothing short of excellent, a fantastic smash burger patty, and perfectly melted cheese, provided a really comforting feeling. The mound city burger was something different, with it’s provel cheese, not quite the classic of the double cheeseburger, but I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a classic, with just a bit of unique flair. The truffle fry sauce, was excellent, tangy and umami, however the fries being crinkle cut definitely took away from the experience, although crinkle cut is not my cup of tea. The chocolate shake was another delicious classic. While the price is a little steep for some of the items, the atmosphere and fantastic burger experience here more than made up for it. If you’re looking for a good smash burger, go for the double cheeseburger and if you’re feeling a little STL pride, try the Mound City Burger, you won’t regret it, and maybe skip the fries and save a buck.

Our family went on opening night and this looks to be a great addition to Des Peres dining. The food was delicious and the customer service was even better. Obviously the place was clean as it was opening day, but I also have to compliment the nice decor and set up. You can choose to order at a kiosk or place your order at a register in person. I was impressed with the friendliness of everyone working. As far as the food, it was delicious. Usually places have kinks to work out during the first week or so of opening, but this did not appear to be the case here. Everything was perfect. Our family will for sure be back.

7/9/24 Update: Today’s Smoke Shack was much improved! Upping my score to 4 for now. If it’s good again next time, it will be a 5, because when it’s done right, the Smoke Shack is the best burger I’ve ever had.

Update: Lowering my rating until they address the food quality issue. I get a Smoke Shack every time. At every other Shake Shack I’ve ever visited, I’ve had a consistently good experience. At this Des Peres location, I’ve had a consistently bad experience. The bacon is cold and limp. It’s like it was cooked, frozen, and then placed on the burger frozen and then only partially thawed by the heat of the beef. It’s unacceptable. I contacted their support team about this weeks ago and visited again today and it was worse than ever. A real shame.

I went for friends and family preview night, the day before it officially opened. Their Smoke Shack is my favorite burger so I knew what to expect. It wasn’t the best one I’ve had (the bacon was a little cold and limp). My wife got the bacon and avocado burger and it was very light on the avocado. But it’s a preview night so they get a free pass. I’ll be back many times.
This location has a two-lane drive-thru and a decent sized parking lot. They serve wine and beer. Orders can be placed inside at a kiosk (I believe there are six) or at the register.
I’m so excited to finally have a Shake Shack in Des Peres!

Ordered the South Carolina BBQ Burger and fries. First visit here. I’m impressed at the selection. They helped me order, and Wow, it’s good! It’s a little over budget, Buy a good place to bring a date. The place is very clean. Wasn’t here at a time it’s crowded, so that might make a difference altogether. I’ll have to come back and try their shakes. Definitely recommend!

I recently went through the drive-thru at the Shake Shack on Manchester Rd in Des Peres, MO on 12/23 at approximately 1:15 PM. Unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing.
The employee working the drive-thru window was very unfriendly and unprofessional—there was no greeting, and my food was handed to me in a rushed and careless manner. To make matters worse, my order was incorrect.
Paying nearly $8 for a burger, I expect much better customer service and accuracy.

$42 for 3 fries, 2 hotdogs, 1 double shack burger and 2 drinks… burger only came with one patty and 2 tiny tomato that didn’t even cover half the burger and the smallest peice of lettuce. Never had this bad of a order from shake shack before.

Came in at 8PM on a Sunday. Nobody was in the restaurant and 1 car in the drive thru. No greeting from staff. We were completely ignored and had to order from a kiosk. Ordered a double cheeseburger, chicken sandwich, cheese/bacon fries and a black & white shake ($34). Took over 15 minutes to come out. Chicken was bland and tasteless. Burger was greasy but good. Fries were crispy and good. Shake was blah. What may have been the manager came out later to ask us how our food was. When we told him about the dry chicken he asked if we were the ones that gave him a zero on his internal survey. Very awkward. Don’t think this kind of service coupled with sub par food for this price will last long in west county. Guess we will see how long they stay open. Don’t hardly ever give negetive reviews but I cannot recommend this place.

If clogged arteries are your jam then this is the place for you. I didn’t think hamburgers came much greasier than Five Guys, but you can find them here. When the bun falls apart because of the grease, it’s greasy! Customer service was good, but the food not so much and the price for 2 people (2 smash burgers, fries, shake and a drink = $52) is outrageous! Would definitely not consider this value, or quality ingredients.
