We had a great experience at Shaka’s in the Outer Banks. The atmosphere is fun and laid-back, lively without feeling overwhelming. I ordered the Huli Huli chicken and my wife had the Caribbean short ribs, and both were absolutely delicious and cooked perfectly. The flavors were bold without being overpowering and the portions were very satisfying, you can tell the kitchen really cares about execution. We started with the she-crab soup which was the only thing that didn’t quite stand out, just a little on the mild side, but still enjoyable. The service was friendly and attentive, drinks stayed cold, and the food came out hot and fresh. Overall a really solid meal and a place we’d gladly return to next time we’re in OBX.

For food, I got the crab legs and those were amazing as well!

The dirty bird sandwich was ginormous! I didn’t taste that, but I heard it was delicious!

Great food, chill place open in the winter. Our waitress Brooke was extremely personable and had great service. Had the crab dip, bang bang shrimp and short rib grilled cheese. It was all delicious. They also had great Christmas decorations. Had a pumkintini…OMG it was pumpkin perfection! Been a few times now and they are always consistent. Thanks for a great restaurant!

I like the place a lot, but I had a family sitting in the booth behind me who just let kids scream and kick, so I’ll say up front my review is a bit biased.
The food was good. I have to say the Cuban sandwich was a bit on the dry side. The Cheesecake egg rolls were awesome. The service was friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely go back.

First time here and it was awesome. Food was excellent, staff was so helpful and friendly. We got the cheese curds, the tuna ahi tower and the big wave burger. Everything was delicious and presented beautifully. Our server, Emily, did an excellent job taking care of us. Highly recommend this place!

Brooke is the GOAT! My mom and I came here while on an after Christmas holiday long weekend. We were sat upstairs, and Brooke happily came over to our table. She offered to get us waters and go get our server. Then, she came back and said she would take care of us. We absolutely LOVE Brooke. She is so friendly, warm, and makes you feel right at home. She’s attentive, wasn’t phased by my dairy allergy, and honestly she made the experience.
Also, the food was SO good. We had a crab cake sandwich, and fried shrimp platter. Not only was the food delicious, it was affordable, and the sweet potato fries with honey made me want to slap my momma. But, I know better. Shaka’s is also extremely clean which matters to this germaphobe. It will be a staple for our family and we can’t wait to go back and ask for Brooke when we go for Spring Break with the whole family this time.

We had the best dinner and service here today! Our waitresses name was Angel and she was fabulous! The food was AMAZING! The Sushi Stack is HUGE and so delicious Definitely our new favorite restaurant! All three of us left with full and happy bellies!

Absolutely without a doubt, highly recommend. The service, food, drinks, and atmosphere were delicious, delightful, diligent, energetic and highly accommodating.. Our table ordered drinks from the bar which were cold, delicious and beautiful. Can we talk about the special on peel shrimp? That was a huge hit! The apps were perfect portions for sharing and the food was so good. I loved mine so much (scallop tower) I brought the leftovers home so I could eat it again. Excellent job and edition to the eateries in the OBX. A shout out to our server, Ken who was so attentive and vibrant. Thank you, Shakra’s! Will definitely be back!

Brianna gave us excellent service! Our first time since it opened. Nice bar and beautiful restaurant with wonderful food. Good place for a date!
Menu has a good balance of high end meals and affordable bites so it should serve a wide variety of customers from families, couples, to bar goers.

We took the whole family here for dinner while vacationing. There were 12 of us, including two preteens, two teens and the rest adults.
There was about a 40 minute wait, which we expected. The parking was a challenge.
Service was good, our server even took our pic for us. He was friendly and made suggestions. The only issue was at the end when one of the kids wanted dessert and he brought the check without asking. It worked out though because everyone else was ready to go.
The food was great. We had a variety of things from the dinner menu and everyone really enjoyed their meal.
About the atmosphere, it was pretty cool inside but for some reason, it was hot? We were sweating by the end of the meal to the point where we couldn’t wait to leave. They need to work on that!
