Sweet mercy this place is my new favorite restaurant. I can’t express how good the food is. We walked in and were greeted almost immediately which was so nice. We asked the attendant at the register (unfortunately didn’t catch his name) what he recommended because it was our first time in. He recommended the lunch plates and told us the most popular are the Hawaiian BBQ Mix & the BBQ and Katsu Mix. He was extremely helpful throughout the process. My fiance and I ordered the Kalua Combo with chicken katsu get 2 proteins as opposed to 3 just in case it was too much food. Once we received our food it was game over from there. The Kalua pig and katsu looked so fresh like it was just barely made. I mean you can see it in the photo it’s just 10/10 stunning. The rice was perfectly cooked and the pasta salad.. lord the pasta salad. I was looking on the menu to see if I could buy another side of it to take home. Not to mention it was such a clean and homey environment. It felt like you could come inside and enjoy a quality meal around good people. I love supporting businesses that you can tell have care and love behind them and that is 100% Shaka. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Seriously just come try it you will not regret it.

My fav, fo’ realz—tender li dat, perfect kine marinade wit dat Hawaiian BBQ char, melt in yo mout, so juicy an’ smoky. Da BBQ chicken? Juicy, fulla island flavor, smoke on point. An’ da shrimp? Succulent, grilled jus right, so ono you no can stop.
Come wit big scoops steamed rice, dat creamy mac salad (local style, creamy an’ good), an’ fresh veggies—portions huge, feed da whole ‘ohana easy, plus leftovers fo’ fight ova lata. Flavors so authentic, like you wen fly to da islands, no need leave Texas. Service friendly an’ quick, place got dat chill aloha vibe, you can tell dey put real heart in every plate.

Will be back, probably too much.
The food was great and seemed to all be made in house making it so much better. The service was better then most sit down restaurants too, the guy running the front of the shop even noticed when my wife was done and brought us a bag to take it to go.
My only negative would be the parking but with construction and three other restaurants that is understandable, it looks like that will be better soon though.

Had a great experience eating here today! The staff was super friendly and welcoming. Food was absolutely great- and that means a lot having moved here from Hawaii 16 years ago. Kalbi was flavored and cooked perfectly (sweet and savory with a nice char), katsu was crisp, and kalua pork was juicy and flavorful. Surprisingly, the rice was of GOOD QUALITY which other restaurants never seem to understand is very important. Mac salad was on point, too (a bit strong on the onion flavor, but not a deal breaker by any means). Highly recommend stopping by! Large, clean dining area and large portions of food! WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK SOON

I got a combo plate ($12.49) with their Hawaiian BBQ chicken and their teriyaki chicken. It was absolutely delicious! It came with two scoops of sticky rice, one scoop of macaroni salad, and the chicken itself was on a bed of cabbage.
It is open seating, and you can fill your own beverage, and get your own knife, napkins, toothpicks, etc.
It is a casual place, which is fine, and had plenty of seating (I didn’t count the seats, but I would estimate about 40). Unfortunately, their metal chairs are made for people with really skinny butts (as in children). I’m not fat at all, but the way the back of those seats comes down to the sides of the seat part, it’s probably no wider than 12 in. So I had to sit in the front two-thirds of the seat, with my back not touching the back of the chair. I see the same style of chair at other casual dining places, and they aren’t comfortable there either (the kind of mid-century, all metal chair you can spray paint any color you want). I would say that the uncomfortable chair was the only negative.
On the other hand, if the chairs had been more comfortable, more people might have been eating there, and then there wouldn’t have been enough parking.

This place always serves up great food at reasonable prices. The service is fast and the staff is very friendly. I got the kalua pork and the fire chicken combo which came with steamed rice and a generous amount of salad. Everything was delicious and nothing was overly salty or sweet.

Happened to be in the area and needed to drop something off at the UPS store. Saw this place and said to myself why not check it out asked the wife if she wanted to try it and we agreed. Safe to say this was by far the best food we have had in this style. These portions are Texas sized, no holding back and the customer service was great! I live near Mansfield and I wish they had this place down here would eat here often. They have many size options from family size to mini meals. The macaroni salad is actually enjoyable the rice is sticky as it should be the cabbage is steamed (which I like) and the chicken portion is perfect for a grown man who eats a lot. The appetizers were delicious and a large portion, Homemade sauce. They also sell Hawaiian drinks in a can. The POG juice was delicious

The lemon pepper grilled chicken plate is perfect as a lower sugar option. Good portion of chicken (I’m guessing about 6oz). Comes with rice, mac salads, and cabbage.
