Highly recommend!! Picked up takeout within an hour of their closing. The food is delicious. We love Thai food and have tried many places in Phoenix, Austin, San Antonio, Houston. We didn’t know what to expect, but this place is easily one of the best. We ordered the appetizer sampler, Thai tea, beef pad see-ew, chicken gang-keaw-wan (green curry), and house special shai yo gai yang (Thai bbq chicken with fried rice). The bbq chicken is wonderful, like seriously so good. Our 11-year-old loved it and said it was in his top 10 foods – and he’s a picky eater. The curry is so good. I can usually tell how good a curry will be simply by the smell, and I could tell immediately when I opened the container. I could drink the broth it’s so good. The beef noodles were also great and were a good not-spicy option for our toddler. The appetizers were all great.

There are 4 spice levels, we decided to try the second level “spicy” since we didn’t know if this is actually Thai spicy or the tame version some restaurants do. It has a very good lower medium heat level in my opinion; I’d imagine that their fourth “extremely spicy” is true Thai level spicy. We love spicy food so next time we’ll get the third level.

Don’t miss the Chef’s Specials tab on their online menu as it’s separate. We’ll definitely be trying more of their food while we’re in the area. Thank you to the chef and staff at Shai Yo Thai for truly great food, especially close to closing time!

Went again today and ordered the mango salad and fried tilapia and it was so amazing.

This is my 2nd time here, but only now reviewing, but I love this place. They have some amazing food. I can’t even remember the name of the chicken dishes, but they were so, so good. The pad woon sen was good as well and the last time I had the pad thai with egg on top and that was also amazing.

I would love to come back and try their dishes again.

An overall amazing experience!

The service was friendly and spectacular. The owner came over and chatted with us about Thailand. It’s always great when you can learn something about the origins of exotic foods.

The food was phenomenal. The Pad Thai Rolls were unique and excellent! Such a good mixture of flavors. The Massaman Curry was great, and the Pad Thai was too. The spice levels were perfect.

The restaurant was nice, clean, and had a comforting ambiance.

I’m used to having Thai food with more spices other than chilies and garlic. I had Tom Kha and there was no lemon grass or galangal for flavor. Overly salty, however. I couldn’t eat but a small amount because of the heavy amount of salt. My spouse had curry… it was extremely watery with absolutely NO vegetables but as with the Tom Kha… TONS of salt!!!

The red curry ( Gang Phed) was absolutely delicious, bursting with authentic flavors. The hotpot (Tom Jeud) with Tofu and veggies was a delightful surprise, brimming with fresh ingredients and a spicy kick that left my taste buds dancing with joy.

What truly stood out, though, was the impeccable service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our dining experience was exceptional. He was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu, offering excellent recommendations for Vegetarian and Vegan food. Even Chef came out and asked us about the food.

Good Thia place. All the food was very good. The prices weren’t bad either $15 for the plate of noodles then plus meat $2-$5. They also have a little spot to buy stuff.

Food: 3/5 food was a bit salty and dessert (fried ice cream) was too sweet. Tom yum soup was good, I enjoyed it.
Service: 3/5 only one waitress, had to wait for food, for dessert, for cheque.
Atmosphere: 4/5 serene and nice. Indoor and outdoor dining.
Bathroom: 3/5 hand soap container didn’t had soap, no diaper changing station.
Parking: 5/5 plenty and free
Veg option: 5/5 plenty

My family and I enjoyed a meal at Shai Yo Thai recently. Honestly, it was the BEST Thai food I’ve ever had.
We took my daughter, who’s been to Thailand, and loves the cuisine. She was very impressed with the authenticity and blend of flavors.
We had the Tom Yum pot (level3 heat) which we shared 3 ways, the crispy spring rolls and the whole fried tilapia. It looked like way too much to eat, however, we managed to eat it all. SO GOOD!
We will most definitely be going back!

We went here for the first time after moving to the area from Austin. We were used to pretty tasty Thai food and were super happy to find this local spot with delicious Thai food. We ordered some of our norm favorites and weren’t disappointed.
