Shah’s is THE place for halal. No one even close to here can fry a piece of fish like shah’s can. The portions are generous, the staff is kind – everyone is exceptional, the establishment is clean and my food is ALWAYS good. Everything i’ve had there has brung me back for more.

Shah’s has been lovely! They’re a Halal chain that currently has about 106 locations, seemingly mostly on the East Coast / northeastern US. They are very accommodating to dietary restrictions and ultimately just have a tonne of options for anybody (I myself am pescatarian and were very kind about it). The portions are very generous and the prices are very middle-ground and fair. I went for their soft open as well as their main grand opening. Ultimately, their service is no joke, the manager clearly takes your experience very seriously and all of the employees are on the same page that they are to be kind and welcoming. Even when I had questions or hesitations, they were super helpful. The food is delicious and flavourful. The fish and the white sauce in particular are absolute highlights. All in all, the Manchester and Vernon food scenes are highly competitive and they take themselves pretty seriously. I have good reputation of the brand new and would recommend them to anyone living nearby or stopping in town. They also now have online ordering (and didn’t before), which is a big plus to me; my partner and I typically prefer to swipe and go on our weekday nights. Cheers!

This is my second visit to Shah’s, first was an online pick up order for lunch that went flawlessly. The lamb platter and fries were delicious, packed full of flavor and spice. The portion per price here is unbeatable. I had a meal for almost three days with how much food is given. The red sauce is *hot* but delicious so proceed with caution. True heat lovers try 3 -4 lines. The white sauce is a must have to compliment.
My second visit was a “dine in”/ wait in experience for To Go. I was greeted as I came in and decided on a fish gyro which they started fresh. By the time I rung out had a seat for a minute or two i was called back up to build my gyro and get packed up. establishment is clean clean clean as a whistle, spacious, great music and atmosphere (nothing worse than waiting in a place with depressing music so I appreciate the vibes).
The fish was crispy, golden brown, clean tasting, and paired beautifully with the red and white sauces.
The pakora chips were a delightful surprise, thin cut crispy fry, seasoned on the outside i can see why people would add these into the inside of the gyro. I regret to inform you it didn’t last that long for experimentations, it simply looked too good to wait.

I made a video on TikTok promoting this restaurant and let me tell you—RUN, don’t walk there. This is the BEST Halal spot in CT and I will no longer go anywhere else aside from here. The food is delicious. The establishment is extremely clean and the environment is wonderful. Their food is all prepped with love and great seasonings. If you love GREAT food this is the place to go to!

Tried the shah’s halal food franchise first time in the Vernon location.
To be the honest the location is perfect and it’s very spacious. Food is good. People are good. Price is reasonable.Only thing the service was a little slow , looks like they are still work in progress and need to speed up their service when there are too many orders.
Veggies and all were taking time to refill and the new batch was not perfectly cooked like the last.
Chicken over rice-5/5
Fish over rice- 4/5( got some cucumber that were bitter and fish could be crispy as the corners were very chewy)
Chicken Chapli over fries- 4/5( would have loved fresh fries)
Spicy chicken sandwich-5/5( you can make it spicy by adding the spicy sauce on the side)

The sweetest and most compassionate service ever! I love this place and frequent for a meal. The lamb platter is my fav! My virtual card was not working for some reason one night and Paulina offered to have me come back to pay since I did not have my physical card! I called back and paid over the phone with no hassle. I would give them 10/5 stars if I could!

But what truly made the visit memorable was the amazing staff. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. You could tell they work well as a team, and that positive energy made the atmosphere feel even more inviting.
There was a lady at the counter — I believe she might have been the manager or assistant manager (I wish I remembered her name!) — who truly stood out. She was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive not only to the guests but also to her team. It was heartwarming to see how she took care of both customers and staff with such grace and respect. That kind of leadership really shows and makes a huge difference.

I come to this shopping center all the time and noticed Shah’s for the first time. I was with my 10 year old daughter and we decided to get lunch here and boy was it great! First impression – is it is exceptionally clean in here, including the bathrooms. Floors are spotless and the kitchen as well. The staff is wonderfully friendly with big warm smiles. Everything looks very fresh, healthy and delicious, the prices are also quite reasonable. My daughter got a chicken sandwich and fries, which totaled about $10. When it came out, the portions were large! The fries are so big and flavorful, you can tell the oil is very fresh by the taste and texture. I got the combo platter which contained well seasoned chicken and diced gyro lamb, rice, cucumber salad, chickpeas, beans and tzatziki sauce – but it is very much build your own like a Chipotle restaurant. That was about $11.99 and I’d consider it to be 2 meals, or 1-1/2 if I was very hungry. It was so delicious! My daughter said “best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had!!!”
I was surprised to already see over 350 reviews because this place only opened recently, but the 4.9 rating is legit. I will be eating here again and again. It was absolutely delicious!!!!
