I stopped by for lunch before the Grand Opening and I ordered the lamb platter, chicken gyro, fries, chicken sandwich, wings, plantains and chicken nuggets. Generous portion for the platter and the gyro, great options for lunch if you’re in the area.

I recently ordered the Chicken Platter and Chicken Gyro, and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory.
The chicken in both dishes was overly watery, which detracted significantly from the overall flavor and texture. It lacked the richness and seasoning that I had hoped for. While the white sauce had a decent taste, it too was watery, making the entire meal less enjoyable.
Overall, I was quite disappointed with my order and would not recommend these dishes based on my experience. I hope for better quality in the future.

If you’re in the area this is the place to order your food. There’s also online option to order from. This has been my most satisfied Halal restaurant experience. Clean environment, spacious and nice restaurant design set up. I got chicken and lamb over rice with vegetables combo. It’s an explosion of remarkable taste. Customer service was excellent and their meal comes in good portion too – so you get more for the very affordable price.

Really impressed with Shah’s Halal in Parlin! The food is always fresh and flavorful — the chicken and lamb over rice are my go-tos. The sauces are amazing (especially the white sauce), and portions are generous for the price. The staff is super friendly and the place is always clean. I tried a mixed platter. The meat was cold. I had some pieces of fat and grizzle that I had to spit out. I did not like the white sauce. It had a sour or vinegar taste to me. It was almost like creamy Italian dressing meets ranch. I did like wingz and thingz back in the day. This place was not my cup of tea.

Shahs has been a growing favorite of mine for the past year now. They serve very authentic halal food that always delivers a memorable taste with every bite. So to see that they have opened a new location in Sayreville brought joy to my palette.. I mean heart . No seriously, if you haven’t tried them before already I highly suggest you do. Great mixed platters over rice and excellent white sauce and hot sauce. I gotta try their gyros . Hope you enjoy.

I have been a customer of Shah’s Halal since the original location in Queens, NY and then added locations in Long Island, NY. I recently dined at a Long Island Shah’s location and always enjoy their food and their prices are reasonable. This location’s food quality lacked in comparison to other Shah’s I have dined at. Unfortunately, I won’t be dining here again. This location’s menu prices are significantly higher than NY. I honestly don’t know why the prices are so much more.

“I accidentally went to this restaurant thinking it was another place with a similar name. Instead of telling me I was at the wrong spot, they gave me food without saying anything. The chicken over rice tasted very bad and made me feel sick. Very dishonest and disappointing experience.”
