If they can ever get my order right, I may give them 5 stars, until then I’ll deduct a star for every wrong order. The very first time, I ordered from them, I paid for extra fish, sauce on the side, etc & didn’t get what I asked for or paid for. This last time, ONCE AGAIN… they didn’t follow anything I requested. I ABSOLUTELY… FOR SURE… DISLIKE ONIONS. I DON’T WANT MY FOOD SATURATED IN SAUCE BECAUSE ONCE YOU REHEAT IT, IT TASTES HORRIBLE. I do not eat my food in ONE sitting.

My friend and I ordered food from this place, and at first, everything seemed good the order arrived on time, and the food looked fine. However, while eating, I found a piece of plastic mixed in with the food. This was really disappointing and concerning, as it completely ruined our experience.I called the restaurant to inform them about it and they literally told me to post a picture of it and call them tomorrow

Had an amazing falafel platter at Shah’s Halal Food in Paterson, near St. Joseph Hospital. It was made by Vipulbhai — perfectly crispy falafel, fresh salad, and delicious sauces. Highly recommended!

We had food from here catered to my job on Halloween, and it was such a nice surprise for everyone! The portions were huge and we ended up having left overs to take home. The food itself was SO good. I had the lamb, rice, and onion combo platter with salad on the side, and it was delicious. Definitely try it with white sauce. It takes it to another level. I used to ONLY get platters from Halal Guys in NYC, but it looks like Shah’s is my new favorite platter location.
The people who work here are super kind and respectful too. I have a food allergy, and they went out of their way to keep everything separate and make sure everything was safe.
Overall, amazing food and awesome service. Definitely recommend it. 🙂

Not sure why there’s so many low ratings and reviews lately, but I’ve always had good experiences with Shah’s!
I’ve been there several times in the past few months, stopped again today with my sister. The 3 employees there were so nice to us, took our orders right away and we were out with our large order within maybe 15 minutes.
We ordered several combo platters over rice for the family and I got a chicken gyro. They even gave us a complimentary big pouch of their classic white sauce. They are constantly cooking fresh batches of meat, and the food always hits the spot!
I went to the ER next door 3-4 times last month and after every visit, I picked up food from them and each time was just as good. One of those nights I walked over just as they were about to lock up for the night; they saw me approaching the door and still let me in to get food, and they were so nice about it as well!
If you haven’t tried Shah’s yet, you’ve got to check it out!

I ordered takeout from Shah’s Halal Food and tried the falafel over rice as part of a BOGO promotion. There are a few seats available if you’d like to eat on-site, but there’s no washroom (it’s shared with Subway), and no Wi-Fi. As for the food, the sauces were tasty. I’ve had the falafel here a couple of times; the first time it was over-fried, but the second time it was cooked well. The taste is decent, and the portions are generous. Parking can be a bit challenging since it’s all roadside.
