Shaghf Café is not your average coffee shop. It’s a thoughtful, global extension of Arab coffee culture. You get cozy, clean design and drinks that won’t just satisfy you’ll remember them. Plus, the desserts and atmosphere work together to make the café feel like a little escape, anywhere you happen to be.

This coffee shop and bakery is a true gem right in the heart of Villa Park. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, the staff is always friendly, and everything tastes fresh and delicious. Their coffee is perfectly brewed, and the pastries are amazing you can tell they’re made with care. Definitely one of my favorite spots in town!

I love going to these Middle Eastern cafes, the drinks and snacks are always unique. Less sweet than the American counterparts. For some reason, the American ones use way too much sugar. I like the artwork. They have plenty of tables, I believe they can be opened up more to have more room. There is a prayer area for Muslims. We got the hot habibi latte, lemon breeze strawberry, San Sebastián white, and South African pudding. The pastries/desserts are slightly more on the expensive side compared to other Middle Eastern cafes I’ve been to. Drinks were both great. Both pastries/desserts were not too sweet. You get a good size piece. None of them were dry or bland. Customer service was good. They were friendly and answered any questions we had.

I’m surprised this place isn’t more busy! I’ve been to the is location 3 times since they opened and have tried the watermelon refresher, date drink, and double shot Spanish latte. All were delicious, but the Spanish Latte was my personal favorite. The space itself is beautifully decorated with murals all over the walls. The staff is away very welcoming and kind. Two notes are that 1) the desserts don’t look very appetizing at all- two times I intended on ordering a dessert but nothing seemed appealing. I would suggest they find a new dessert source (I can recommend a few!). Secondly, of comparable coffee shops, I would say their prices are of the highest. For two double shot Spanish lattes I paid nearly $17- the price of a good meal. I suggest they lower their prices and offer better dessert options and they will go far!

Such a pleasant experience. I wanted a nice rich cup of coffee at 8:00 PM. Options are Starbucks, McDonalds, DD and gas station coffee. I would rather go without anything than have any of their offerings. I don’t care for any of them.
And then I found Shaghf Cafe! Communities need more places like this. The Turkish coffee was exactly what I needed. Rich flavor and something new for my palette. Loved it.
I got a waffle pastry with chocolate. They made it fresh. It was amazing. Great service as well.

We enjoyed this cafe. The coffee was great and the atmosphere was good. We didn’t have any deserts, but we will try them next time. They definitely looked well made.
The young staff were cheerful, polite, and welcoming, which is a big plus. They took the time to make sure we were happy with the order and service.
I highly recommend the coffee and atmosphere in this place.

Hot habibi latte felt approachable yet unique and you can ask for it not too sweet. Pastry was best in class and for an undeniable price point too. Something for every taste. beautiful artwork. Not an austere fancy build out, instead modern in a really thoughtful, detailed, mesmerizing artwork covering the walls. Plush upholstery. sturdy wooden tables. A stack of board games. Very cozy. Begs to bring your headphones and get some work done or bring some friends and laugh for a while.

Loved the Pistachio cheesecake and shaghf tart! That tart is worth trying! Didn’t try their coffee but their green tea was good and the staff was really helpful. The place is pretty and is a vibe. I loved the dedicated prayer area, cant wait to be back!

Great ambience and amazing coffee. I was surprised to find out that their coffee is actually roasted in Dubai!
They are very accommodating of large groups and have something for everyone on the menu. My kids loved the frappes and the chocolate croffle and brownie bite.
We also tried the date cold (not a cold brew, it’s actually a latte with date syrup and came with a big juicy date on top!), this was one of the best and most unique coffees I have had.
Also tried the pistachio frappe-this is delicious and comes with a generous amount of pistachio bits which was a pleasant surprise.
Habibi latte is definitely a favorite as well and very well balanced.

The place has a nice ambience, beautiful wallpapers and decor. The service was excellent, and the lattes were delicious, though a bit pricey for the size – a medium felt more like a small. However, the silence gave the space an almost eerie feeling, like being in a library. Some background music would really enhance the experience and probably bring more people in.

Shaghf is a beautifully designed Arabic coffee shop with a luxurious ambiance that makes it stand out. The decor is elegant and creates a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a quiet moment or meeting with friends. Their dessert of, such as cheesecakes, truffles, waffles, and Dubai chocolate, are impressive and cater to a variety of tastes.
However, the pricing of their coffee is steep. Paying over $9 for a 16-ounce cup feels excessive, even for a premium experience. While the quality of the coffee is good, it’s hard to justify such a high price, especially when comparable options are available like Qamaria and Qahwah house for less and they are just down the road.
If you’re looking for a special treat or want to experience a unique café vibe, Shaghf is worth a visit but I’m not sure if the coffee is worth it. But for regular coffee drinkers, the cost might make it a rare indulgence rather than a go-to spot.
The 3 stars is for the dedicated prayer area Mailah .
