This place is going to be a restaurant that I come to more often. I got the salmon which might have been the best salmon I have ever had. It was covered in this amazing glaze and on the side was some tasty rice and vegetables. The salmon also came with a clam chowder soup which was spectacular. To finish it off I got a multilayered cake which was like an angel dancing on my tongue. The bartender and waitress were both very friendly, while the owner was full of energy and made the experience much more enjoyable. All around this place was great and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Really good perch and bluegill. They have decent sized menu and bar if you wanna have a drink. Friendly staff. It is a little pricey compared to other places. But it was well worth it.

This business has Changed Owner about 2-years ago.
It is now called “Wally’s South 17.”
It’s still a great 5-Star place in my book.

We ate at Shady Sue’s a couple of weeks ago and it was a great experience. The food was great. Prime Rib and Stuffed Tenderloin.
Bartender was friendly and the drinks were great. Service and servers were good, typical relaxed up north atmosphere. We will be back again soon.

We have been going to Shady Sues for years. We have always had great service,
Ted the bartender is the best, and the food always consistently delicious. The various fish choices, as well as the steaks and her ribs. Desserts also excellent. A cozy, down to earth atmosphere. Our favorite restaurant in the Northwoods!

Cute atmosphere and great history.
We waited 45 minutes for a table when we put in a reservation over 2 hours in advance. Let me be clear- this was NOT at the fault of the staff. The costumers here are some of the most inconsiderate diners I’ve ever experienced… people just sit and chat for over a half hour when they’ve already paid for their meal and the restaurant is so busy that there’s not even room to stand. No one likes those people… don’t be those people, just pay and leave so they can turn the tables over. That being said, the staff and customer service here are outstanding. I was so impressed with their patience. They really should get a sign that doesn’t condone hanging around for more than a few minutes once the bill is paid.
Overall, food was okay. It was too greasy for me. It really depends on what you order, though.

We came here for dessert, so our experience was limited.
We shared the creme brulee, and it was really good.
I had an old fashioned. It was hand-muddled and very good.
They also have dessert drinks.
The menu looked pretty good, and the meals that we saw getting served looked pretty good also.
The place was very small (8-9 tables), and it looked like the owner put a lot of love into it.
I was expecting a “hole in the wall” place until I did a little research an hour before stopping in.
We visited on Sun., 9-02-2018. We would go back.

The go-to place for prime rib, steak or seafood in the Rhinelander area. Very cozy. If you have to wait a minute, take a chill pill and have an old fashioned at the bar. The food is always outstanding and we really enjoy Holly’s table service in particular. She goes the extra mile to make sure everything is just delightful. I’m a wine drinker and there are a number of good wines to choose from.
