After hearing about this restaurant on the Pittsburgh Today Live news show, my family and I decided to stop in for breakfast. We are sure glad we did! The service was fantastic (shout out to Jessica!), the food was delicious, and the atmosphere is cozy and inviting. We are very happy to know that there is a great local spot for breakfast, and we definitely will be returning!

This relatively new spot, in the middle of nowhere in Hickory, PA is a hidden gem. What a fantastic breakfast experience. Inside a nondescript building is a cozy and cute breakfast/lunch spot. The breakfast sandwich on sourdough (where Brie was an option for the type of cheese) was delicious. Their samplers boards, where they offer a variety of different toppings on either waffles, pancakes or French toast was also fantastic. The mixed berry and s’mores toppings were very good, but the lemon/bluberry topping was exquisite. The service was fast and super friendly. They are only open until 2pm, and serve breakfast until 11am, after which they have a lunch menu. Brunch is served on Sundays. Go try this place!

Loved the eggs benedict with sweet potatoes! The restaurant is beautifully decorated with great views. The attached gift shop with local items is a really nice touch. Next time, I will have to grab some coffee from the Flower Cafe!

Tasty food prepared with care. Very reasonable portions for the price. Proper espresso beverages with latte art were a nice touch. My Reuben sandwich was excellent – good quality meat, proper amount of sauerkraut (well drained so the bread didn’t get soggy). My father in law had eggs Benedict that were picture perfect, and my daughter inhaled her pear&brie sandwich.
Wait staff were terrific.

We absolutely love Shady Elms Kitchen every time we visit! The staff is so friendly, and it’s incredibly kid-friendly — they even have their own delicious kids’ menu. The food portions are huge, and everything tastes amazing. Their iced chai latte is one of the best I’ve ever had, and my kids can’t get enough of the cake pops. Every detail is so thoughtfully done, and they truly make you feel like family!

Amazing small town restaurant. A bit of a hidden gem. They have breakfast and lunch, and gluten free and dairy free options. It feels like home cooked meals and served in cast iron. Very warm environment and even has a small gift shop at the front. Highly recommend, especially if you are gluten free (bread doesn’t taste like cardboard).

First time here and WOW! The moment we walked in we were greeted and only had a few minute wait. Our server, Jacob was awesome. We will definitely be back. I also highly recommend the cowboy burger! It was 10/10!

This place has such a wonderful atmosphere! The food was delicious and they had so many gluten-free options. My favorite was the GF fried chicken! We also love that they are supplied by local farmers.
