We have rented a cabin a few times close to this place. They were able to accommodate our large group each time with quick and friendly service.
The food is awesome! I’m very picky with brisket that I haven’t made myself, and theirs is fantastic. The wings are also great!

Great experience with amazing food and service. The brisket was some of best I have had very lean not dried out. The salad with salmon was awesome and a huge portion. The pulled chicken thighs were great all accompanied by some of the best sauces ever. Can’t wait to be back!
We went back last night and we’re so disappointed I don’t think we will go back. The Poutine was cold and the chicken wings dry. We waited 55 minutes for are food!! Good luck to them down the road.

9/9 of our family members agree: BEST BBQ EVER! Shady Akers is off the beaten path but worth the drive for quality from scratch family style food! We tried the Texas Style Sausage, Brisket, and Pulled Pork – all of which was packed with flavor! The brisket and pork were so tender they just fell apart. The sauces covered the spectrum of BBQ – from Carolina to spicy with a sweet one that was perfect paired with pork and mac’n’cheese! For sides, you have to try the fries – crinkle cut crispy and perfectly salted – no dipping sauce required! The mac’n’cheese was the kids’ favorite – pasta cooked to perfection with a creamy cheese sauce that complimented the meats. Coleslaw had a snap and the vegetables were fresh. The cornbread was a favorite as well – sweet with a delightful texture. We also enjoyed the shady corn! We were all completely full when presented with the option for dessert – a smoked chocolate Texas sheet cake – that we just couldn’t pass up! Literally everything was 10/10! The waitress, Molly, was a delight – very attentive and helpful. The owners are exceptionally kind and obviously put a ton of love in every part of Shady Akers! We have zero complaints and are brainstorming ways to get food shipped cross country to our home!

Overall one of the wholesome places I have been to besides Cider Shack in Adams. Plus one of the top smoke meats in central Wisconsin. Service was also spot on and very very friendly. Our group will be back for sure. Also we did have a pizza and it was delicious also.

We got a smoked meatloaf, wings, fries, Mac and cheese, and the smoked chocolate cake. All were exceedingly delicious! Service was quick. Definitely want to head back soon!

You were out of 3 different foods we came for. Didn’t get are order right and one plate came with 3 or 4 pieces of brisket. But the smoked meatloaf was good and Mac & cheese.

Stopped in for a random lunch on our way to the Dells & im so glad we did!! Food was absolutely delightful, service was amazing & the price is really great as well. Cash only, we checked online first. Got a variety of stuff and everything tasted equally great. They let us sit outside & served us so we could let our doggo hang out with us. Worth the stop in! We will for sure be back.

I had been waiting to try this place out. I am obsessed with pulled pork, so that was my first meal as pictured. Service was good, a bit busy, but good.
We enjoyed the burnt ends as an appetizer. Almost like candies.
It was a tad hot inside, hopefully the a/c is on this summer. We’ll be back many more times.
Don’t forget the chocolate cake!!! Yum

Have you ever read “Fried Green Tomatoes at The Whistle Stop Cafe”? If so, then this place will far exceed your wildest dreams when it comes to BBQ. The only thing missing are the fried green tomatoes! We tried the chicken, pork, brisket, ribs and burnt ends with sides of Mac and Cheese and cornbread. Everything, and I mean everything rated a ten out of ten. The train passing by was the icing on the cake. Cash only and go early to avoid missing anything on this menu.
