Coming to Shade on the Canal. Me & my granddaughter had lunch. It was good! Our server was Savannah she was nice. The atmosphere is great! You need to try it! I had the chicken Philly & fries ! My granddaughter had mini corn dogs & smiley fries! She had a Reese piece with vanilla ice cream it was delicious! Stop over & give it a try! They’re is a variety to choose from! They have a bar if you want drink I ordered chicken salad to go which was great with their house dressing(La Cafe)

Shade on the Canal is hands-down one of our favorite spots in Canal Winchester. From the moment we walked in, the staff made us feel welcome — friendly, attentive, and genuinely committed to great service even when they’re slammed. Their menu offers so many options that there’s something for everyone: from hearty burgers and loaded pizzas to fresh salads and unique sandwiches — every visit feels like a new culinary adventure.
The food arrives fresh and flavorful, and you can tell the kitchen takes pride in what they serve. The variety on the menu keeps us coming back, whether we want a casual lunch, dinner with friends, or a place to watch the game with great drinks.
Fair warning — it can get busy, especially during peak dinner hours, and finding a parking spot can take a bit of patience. But trust us, it’s worth it. Shade makes you feel like a regular from the first visit, and we love it!

The food was great! Friendly service. Placed order as a walk-in. Didn’t have to wait very long. Will call in order next time. First time eating there and looking forward to trying other things on the menu. Had a Cuban sandwich and Jerk sliders. Both were awesome!

The food quality was good for certain items but the biggest problem is they are charging $8 for 5-6 breaded pickle spears?? And then another $7.50 for 5 mini corndogs and tiny amount of applesauce??

The wait to get your food is EXTREMELY slow. They’ve messed up my order almost every time I’ve been here. The gluten free sub rolls are dry and crumbly. Atmosphere: very crowded and loud. I don’t know why I’ve continued to give this restaurant several chances, as I’m disappointed every time. I have no desire to return at this point.

We had an amazing experience here. Ordered wings, a burger, and salad. The Jamaican Jerk sauce on the wings was just incredible! Perfect mixture of sweet sticky and spicy. Can’t wait to try it again. I got a 1/4 Texas burger and recommend going with the 1/2 pound. Feels like it needs the extra meat to level it out but all good flavors. Got a side of their Ragin sauce for my fries and oh my, it’s was awesome. Felt freshly blended and the peppers really stood out without being too intense. Highly recommend and they have a nice beer selection too.

We had a decent size group, 13. Called at least a week in advance. We did not have proper seating for everyone. Waitress was very accommodating. We had issues getting the correct orders and then some of our food was not ordered correctly. So 2 people had to wait until the end of everyone else eating to get their food. Honestly what I paid I could have gone to beer barrel or giordanos and got a better pizza for the same price.

Maybe I overhyped it in my mind cause I’ve been waiting a minute to visit. Local favorite and lots of menu choices. I had the Texas Burger and my wife had the Island wings. Wings were unbreaded and crispy, quite large. Kind of like a jerk bbq. Pasta salad was rather plain
Burger didn’t look great but cooked med rare and taste was pretty good. Fries were a bit overcooked IMO. Still want to give them another try.

My daughters and I stopped in for lunch recently. I ordered the Jamaican Jerk sliders. The chicken was dry, but the sauce was okay. My daughters ordered bbq wings, garlic fries, and macaroni bites. The wings were undercooked and greasy, and the fries were a soggy mess. The macaroni bites were good. Average food for an overpriced bill. I was a little taken back by the creepy behavior from one of the employees. She was repeatedly coming up to my young daughter at our table. We will not be retuning to Shades!!!
