First off, if you’ve never tried shabu shabu before, the name translates to “swish swish,” which perfectly captures the experience: you dip thinly sliced meats, seafood, and veggies into bubbling hot broth at your own table. It’s interactive, flavorful, and just plain fun.
Our top appetizer was the Okonomiyaki—a savory Japanese pancake loaded with cabbage, green onion, and pork belly, topped with a fried egg and bonito flakes. Crunchy, rich, and completely addictive.
For entrées, it was unanimous: the A5 Japanese Miyazaki Ribeye was the star. Melt-in-your-mouth perfection. But we also loved the vegetarian curry udon as a surprisingly bold alternative.
Dessert? Do not skip the coffee jelly. It’s like if jello and cold brew had a baby—topped with cream, light, not too sweet, and the perfect ending.
Staff were helpful, the vibe was cozy, and we left full and smiling.
Absolutely worth a visit. Follow @DiningWithTheDavids for more!
Great food quality, so flavorful!
We very much enjoyed the Shabu experience.
So many interesting appetizers.
The meats, fantastic.
Broths were so good.
We indulged in desserts as well, Matcha Affogato Green Tea Cream Brulee
We will be back!!
It’s quite good.
The food was fantastic and perfectly seasoned and delicious. It was so amazing we came back the next day to other a few more things.
I was very lucky to have been introduced to the owner and her husband through a close friend and I am so lucky and grateful for their hospitality on the golf course and off. I feel like I’m back in Japan and I have never left.
The coffee jelly dessert was impeccable and a great way to end the night. This place is a must go to if you’re in the desert area. But make a reservation since it’s so popular.
As soon as we walked through that door, we were taken care of and our needs were met. The employee pulled our chairs out and sat us down in a matter of seconds. It was our 1st time, so step by step they explained the menu and what to expect. They also gave us a quick trivia about the sake, meats and what Shabu is.
The broth was amazing! The meat was like eating a piece of heaven! The veggies were so crunchy and fresh! The noodles were so soft!
The waitress came to give us more napkins and rice, she politely waited out of frame because she saw we were shooting a video of the food. They removed our dirty dishes quickly, brought us more water without asking, asked us if we needed anymore broth, noodles, veggies, rice and etc.
At the end, as we were walking out the door, they all thanked us for coming in and one of the employees ran after us to give us a sample of the handmade toffee.
Overall, it was the best restaurant experience ever and the best food ever! I will recommend this place to everyone I know and, of course, come again!
