I had a great first experience at Shabu Shabu Pittsburgh. I tried the mushroom and miso broths with veggies, tofu, and sushi, and everything was really good. They have lots of options and it felt very vegetarian friendly. The staff was welcoming and took time to explain how everything works, which made it easy and enjoyable. I also loved the strawberry latte and mango tea. I left full and even grabbed a vanilla ice cream to go. Would definitely come back!

We visited Shabu-Shabu on Saturday night for the first time. Hot pot was new to us and something fun to try! We chose to grill and hot pot at the same time which was a little overwhelming at the start but they had instructions and helpful tips available! Everything was very fresh and delicious. We tried out some different broths since it was our first time and enjoyed them all. The marinated beef bulgogi on the grill was a favorite as well as the sushi they had out! I loved the sauce station and how many options they had out to create your own finishing sauce. Deserts were a sweet little top off with ice cream options and small cakes. My 1 star off atmosphere is just because it’s a little cramped at the tables and not sure how much I love the raw food buffet style with so many other guests but it was kept pretty clean. I’d love to see some more options on the conveyor like maybe some white rice, eggs, rice cakes maybe! Overall, the price is fantastic for an all you can eat experience.

One of the best hot pot experiences in the Pittsburgh area. The ingredients were fresh, the broth options were flavorful, and the all-you-can-eat setup made it perfect for a fun meal with family and friends. The staff was attentive, and the restaurant was clean and well organized. Great selection of meats, seafood, and vegetables. Highly recommended if you’re craving authentic hot pot in the

I’ve had Korean BBQ / Hot Pot / grill in a few different cities around the country. Shabu Shabu is amazing! The variety is amazing, come hungry! My wife and I could barely walk after we tried nearly everything they had to offer. The open raw bar allows you to try something in a small amount if you have never had it or not sure if you’d like it. Hot Pot and Grill is such a fun experience to show with someone or a group. We will most certainly be back! Customer service was fantastic and they kept our grill

Very large, well lit and bright. The atmosphere is welcoming and the staff is friendly. However the server was not very helpful at all. Aside from assuming that we knew the full concept of eating at this type of restaurant, she rarely came by. We asked for extra napkins because one napkin clearly isn’t enough, she pointed to the two cocktail napkins she put on the table for our beverages as though that was all we were permitted to have. When taking our beverages order she seemed irritated that I asked if they had iced tea, stating if it’s not on the menu, they didn’t have it. For clarification, I had not looked at the menu yet. When taking our hot pot broth base order she looked at me as I was looking at the options and stated one of the listed options as though that’s the one I was to select. She even began entering it on her tablet. Aside from the service, this is one of the better hot pot restaurants I have been too. The food selection is great and it’s nice not to have to wait for a server to come to your table to take a order each time you want more. This is truly more in line with a typical Japanese style restaurant.

I’ve had hot pot all over the planet, and this shabu shabu place stands out. The items were fresh, with a great variety of meats, vegetables, and sauces that will satisfy everyone.
Our server Roush was excellent. He was friendly, funny, and full of helpful tips and recommendations that made the experience even better.
Considering the quality, service, and the overall experience it’s reasonably priced. Great all around. We’ll definitely be back.

Great variety of foods, delicious sushi, great milk tea and smoothies, and most importantly the hotpot! My favorite broth is, of course, the Szechuan Spicy if you can take a little spicy. Curry broth is also good with all foods. Grill is fantastic and my favorite meat is the Bulgogi. Grab some lettuces, white rice and wrap them with the grilled bulgogi, wow what more can I say! Just satisfying. Will come back again!! Oh, one last thing, enjoy the meal with Korean Soju! No-brainer!

They have so many options for broth flavor and the buffet is awesome! Once you figure out how to season your food before you start cooking, you are golden! It is a bit overwhelming at first (we were first timers now Repeat customers).
We absolutely love the atmosphere and request servers by name. ELL Was our server tonight and she was incredible! So very attentive and friendly

Maybe we’ve gotten lucky as we’ve yet to have a Hot Pot experience that, food-wise, wasn’t terrific.

Our meal at Shabu Shabu was expectedly excellent but, what made our trip rise above its competitors was our server, Nate.

His kindness, attentiveness & knowledge of all things Hot Pot brought our experience to a level that made me want to dive back into the older 5 star reviews I’ve doled out and take away points!

A few Shabu Shabu-specific tips & tricks:

• Make a reservation (via Google); the walk-in line was out the door.
• For a unique, off-menu experience, ask for a raw egg. Poach it in the broth.
• Spike that Honeydew smoothie with a shot of Midori.
• Hope you get Nate as your server. His recommendations were on point and, if spice is your thing, his signature Korean BBQ Sauce is killer-diller.
• Save the noodles for last.
